More Than Just Another Digital Programmer

Tenneys new MicroTenn is a unique microprocessor based

programmer/controller system. This system was designed by

Tenney to provide fully automatic environmental testing, when

used in conjunction with our latest line of standard and cus-

    tom environmental chambers.

Programming and operation of the MicroTenn are via the

touch sensitive keyboard. Once verified, programs may be

stored and easily retrieved using the command cartridge. Com-

plex military, pharmaceutical and commercial environmental

test profiles up to 51 steps long are entered into the Micro-

Tenn in minutes and then run automatically without supervi-

sion. Included in the MicroTenn programming capability are

eight event control circuit& Event circuits may be used to

automatically energize such items as the test specimen,

    shakers, vibrators, or CO

    injection systems, during specific

    steps of the test program.

A standard safety feature of the MicroTenn is the adjustable

Hi-Low temperature cut-out system, which will automatically

shut down the chamber if preset temperature limits are

    exceeded.

The MicroTenn is available in the single channel version for

controlling temperature profiles only, and two channel for

simultaneous control of temperature/humidity or tempera-

    ture/altitude program profile&

The system has an optional RS-232 or IEEE-488 talk/listen

interface port to allow the MicroTenn to be controlled by a

    remote computer.

Contact Tenney Engineering or your local Tenney rep-

resentative to arrange for a MicroTenn demonstration.

    RS-232 COMPUTER INTERFACE

The basic option consists of an RS-232 port, operational circuitry and a special software

configuration. A host computer dedicated to the unit may then communicate with the MicroTenn. The computer can perform all

operating functions, including entering setpoints, events, programs, etc., that may be performed via the keyboard. Actual chamber

conditions and other controller parameters may be transmitted from the MicroTenn to the computer upon demand.

    IEEE-488 COMPUTER INTERFACE

A MicroTenn can be operated from an IEEE-488 via an optional parallel-to-serial con-

verter. The converter allows communication via the RS-232 port system as described above.

addition to two standard events, an additional six 1 amp 120-230 VAC triac switches, with LED

    indicators

    to show

ON condition are available. These units are installed behind the hinged chamber instrument control panel, for

    easy access.

    The event triacs

are connected to and controlled by the MicroTenn

event programming mode. With this option, an

external connector is provided for all eight events.

    .

SECOND LINEAR CHANNEL Allows the MicroTenn to control other functions such as altitude or any other linear functions.

Programming and read out for altitude can be directly in feet up to 100,000 feet, in millimeters of mercury or millibars (to

    customer specs).
