Dear Industry Colleague,The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) is happy to invite you to participate in the inaugural meeting of the Mid America Association of State Transportation Officials (MAASTO). This organization was formerly known as the Mississippi Valley Conference (MVC) of State Highway and Transportation Officials.

The 2011 conference will be held July 20-22 at the Westin Cincinnati in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio. This year’s theme, “All Systems Go,” will focus on four main areas: Performance Measures and Data Reporting, Innovative Finance, Sustainability and Multi-Modal Transportation.

We are excited to host MAASTO’s inaugural conference in Cincinnati, Ohio, because it gives us an opportunity to highlight our state and our outstanding transportation partners.

We need your help to make this year’s conference a success. As hosts of this event, we invite you to not only attend the meeting, but to participate in the festivities as an event partner. Partnership opportunities are available in a range of levels to best fit your individual needs .

Participating in MAASTO events provides direct access to an estimated 400 transportation decision makers and stakeholders from both the public and private sectors. This is a unique opportunity to network with colleagues and potential customers through various conference partnerships and to showcase the cutting edge services and innovations your company has to offer.

In addition to partnering with MAASTO, participants are encouraged to register for booth space in the conference exhibit hall. Partnership/exhibitor opportunities are available on a first-come, first-served basis. A detailed description of the many partnership opportunities and a registration form to exhibit are provided in this handout.

Come join us for MAASTO 2011 in Cincinnati and enjoy all that Cincinnati’s conference has to offer.

Respectfully,

Jerry Wray Thomas K. SorelVice-President President Director, ODOT Commissioner, Mn/DOT

MAASTO is a 501(c)(6) non-profit organization consisting of ten state transportation agencies from Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio and Wisconsin.

The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) is a non-profit, non-partisan association representing highway and transportation departments in the 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. AASHTO represents all five transportation modes: aviation, highways, public transportation, rail and waterways. Its primary goal is to foster the development, operation, and maintenance of an integrated national transportation system. The association provides a forum for consideration of transportation issues and is frequently called on by Congress to conduct surveys, provide data, and testify on transportation legislation.

AASHTO divides its member departments into four geographical regions. The Mid America Association of State Transportation Officials (MAASTO), formerly known as the Mississippi Valley Conference (MVC), consists of ten states primarily in the Midwest: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio and Wisconsin.

The other AASHTO regions cover the western states (WASHTO); northeastern states and the District of Columbia (NASTO); and the southeastern states and Puerto Rico (SASHTO).

The Mississippi Valley Conference of State Highway and Transportation Officials, now known as MAASTO, was organized in 1907, even prior to the establishment of AASHTO. The goal of MAASTO is to foster the development, operation, and maintenance of an integrated and balanced transportation system that adequately serves the transportation needs of the ten member states.
