JONATHAN GINGERICH is the owner of Yonie’s Greenhaus, a family operation that began in 2004 . They grow and retail a wide variety of annual flowers in flats, 4 .5” pots, hanging baskets, and planters . They also grow lots of vegetable plants, including heirloom tomatoes . Herbs, perennials, and flowering shrubs round out the selection . Yonie’s uses a variety of beneficial insects for pest insect control . Jonathan is also a certified organic grain farmer on their 3rd generation family farm .
TODD ZEHR is the founder and owner of SoilBiotics, a company specializing in developing and manufacturing unique seed enhancements and plant nutritional products for agriculture . Todd located his company in the heartland of Illinois, and has moved SoilBiotics into the forefront of developing organic products that are not only 100% sustainable, but environmentally friendly to soils and ground water . Todd is dedicated to passing along his expertise and vision for sustainability by consulting throughout the agricultural industry on how to increase profitability by growing crops with less inputs and better management practices . As agriculture grows and the industry transforms, he is driven to impact the direction of technological advancement from the ground up .
BILL MCKIBBEN has a Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science (combined Honors Program), The Ohio State University in Soil Chemistry . He is currently on the advisory board for Ohio State University for the Basic Cation Saturation Ratio project . This includes helping to set up testing protocol and parameters . His goal is to make a difference in agriculture especially in the area of soil analysis and crop yields . He feels this will be accomplished by combining the standard soil test with soil solubility analysis and tissue profiling . His book, The Art of Balancing Soil Nutrients, has been published by Acres USA .
JEFF STOLTZFUS has worked as a Farm Food Safety educator with Penn State since 2016 . Prior to that he spent 23 years with the ELANCO school district as an adult ag educator working with vegetable and crop production and eventually food safety . He lives on a small beef, vegetable and crop farm and grows strawberries and pumpkins .
JUDSON REID is a Senior Extension Associate with the Cornell Vegetable Program . He manages a series of research and education projects for greenhouse, high tunnel and field production of fresh market vegetables . Judson has conducted educational sessions with farmers in the U .S ., Mexico, Canada, Caribbean, Africa, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and Cuba (New York) . A high stepping, haybaling, barefoot youth from a northern dairy farm, Judson went on to earn undergraduate and graduate degrees from Cornell University in agriculture .
DALLAS STEINER is CEO of Venture Products, Inc . (VPI) with its headquarters in Orrville, Ohio . VPI is a global company that designs and manufactures two product lines; VENTRAC, a compact tractor with over 30 commercial grade attachments for markets that include slope mowing, golf courses, landscape/snow contractors, and municipalities, and TILMOR, a small agricultural tractor with implements and tool equipment that provide innovative solutions built for small-scale farms . With more than 40 years of experience in designing, manufacturing, and marketing outdoor power and agricultural equipment, Dallas is responsible for leading product growth in global markets and provides leadership to expanding export sales .
DR . MARK WILLIAMS has been a faculty member in the Department of Horticulture at the University of Kentucky since 2001 and he is currently the Chair of the department . His research interests are in sustainable agriculture, with a particular focus on evaluating and developing sustainable organic horticulture production systems . Dr . Williams has conducted a range of experiments in organic farming, from optimizing the production of direct-marketed vegetables to developing control options for specific pest problems in cucurbits, peppers, tomatoes and apples .

JOHN MILLER JR grew up on a dairy farm here in north central Ohio . He has a 76 acre farm on which he has been growing 12-16 acres of organic produce for 10 years .
DANIEL VANPELT was born and raised on a farm in Mahoning County in northeast Ohio . His family has been raising produce for 35 years . Currently they raise 50+ acres of produce, 30 of which are sweet corn . Most of the produce is sold at VanPelt’s Farm Market .
JIM MITCHELL and his wife both graduated at NC State University with BS in Horticulture . While in school he helped with research on blueberries and she was the trial gardens manager at the forerunner of JC Ralston Arboretum . They started a small nursery in 1979 and did mowing as well as outdoor maintenance around local businesses . In 1993 they bought a small farm in King, to expand their tree and shrub growing . They grew our first greenhouse crop of poinsettias in ’96 and it has ‘Grown’ from there .
AMOS HOSTETLER has been growing produce since 1995, and involved with a Produce Auction since 2003 . He currently operates a farm market and grows hanging baskets, planters, and potted plants for the Produce Auction .
SARAH SWOPE & REBECCA ZEISLER are a mother/daughter team from Salem, Ohio that have been growing cut flowers for 12 years . They own and operate Heritage Lane Farm, raising produce, cut flowers and livestock in a sustainable manner . Their growing season begins in March and continues through December . The majority of flowers that are grown and harvested are arranged and sold at Shaker Square Farmer’s Market in Cleveland, Ohio . A few flowers are sold in bulk to local consumers and the duo also arranges flowers for several weddings and other events each year .
SINCLAIR ADAM JR has a B .S . in Plant & Soil Science from the University of Wyoming in 1983 and a M .S . in Plant & Soil Science from the University of Vermont in 1988 . He has published many articles, holds 15 plant patents and has bred Chrysanthemums, Tiarella, x Heucherella and Phlox .
MICHAEL PHILLIPS is renowned for helping people grow healthy fruit using herbal protocols . The community orchard movement that he helped found at GrowOrganicApples .com provides a full immersion into the holistic approach to orcharding . His Lost Nation Orchard is part of a medicinal herb farm in northern New Hampshire . Michael is the author of The Apple Grower and The Holistic Orchard which recently received Garden Book of the Year honors from the American Horticultural Society . He teamed up with his wife Nancy to write The Herbalist’s Way, to explore the many paths whereby herbalists find their green niche . Michael’s latest, Mycorrhizal Planet: How Fungi and Plants Work Together to Create Dynamic Soils, will rock you! Together we create the green leaf, the living mycelium, the amber grain, the good rain, the warm sun, and indeed the perfect apple .
ANDREW YODER and his wife Barbara are second generation owners of Mt Eaton Greenhouse . Two daughters and a son-in-law are currently employed as 3rd generation in the business . Mt Eaton Greenhouse is a retail garden center that is open year-round .
JONAS ESH has been on a produce farm since he was 10 years old where his family grew produce and sold at a roadside stand . Currently Jonas along with his wife Linda and 10 children grow 10 acres of produce for the Wayne County Produce auction in Indiana .
DAVID FRY owns a 38-acre farm in northern Indiana . David, with the help of his wife and family grow produce, popcorn and a few steers . He also serves on the committee of Truck Patch Connections and of the Food Safety Team .

KIP RONDY has been a lifelong grower . He dropped out of graduate school in the 70's and moved to West Virginia to begin to a life long experience in Farming . Nearly 50 years latter he still is at it now located in southeastern Ohio with the development of winter long production of high tunnel greens with no external heat source . Crops in these greenhouses (kale, carrots, salad, etc .) have survived minus zero temps with little or no damage, or significant loss of production .
DANIEL HERSHBERGER is the owner of Hershberger's Farm and Bakery . He has been buying from a produce auction since taking the business over from his father in 1998 . Along with his wife Mary Esther and their 9 children they continue to operate the family business .
JERRY D MILLER and his wife Gloria Ruth have 7 children and live on Gloria Ruth’s 173 acre home farm . They have been certified organic since 2005 and are currently milking 60 Jersey cows relying on intensive grazing and market through Organic Valley .
RICK MOLNAR is a fourth-generation farmer at Molnar Farms in Poland, Ohio . The farm grows produce in addition to their grain operations . Most of their produce, including sweet corn, tomatoes, peppers and peaches, is sold through the farm’s retail store . Rick graduated the University of Akron with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and an MBA in Management .
KEVIN LAWYER has worked as a member of the Sales team and research and development at Leader Evaporator for 6 years . Originally from Bakersfield, Vermont and has lived there all of his life . Kevin learned Maple from his Father and Grandfather that boiled from 3,000 taps on a wood fired Leader Evaporator . He’s spent time in Maple regions all over the US and parts of Canada . He enjoys and has been in many hundreds of woods and sugarhouses across the country and also has his own 12,000 tap maple sugaring operation . In his free time he owns pick your own apple orchards and enjoys planting various crops for harvest during the fall .
JEFF PROBST owns and runs Blooms & Berries Farm Market & Garden Center in Cincinnati Ohio . With his parents, Jeff opened the farm to the public in 1999 with the intention of earning money for college and learning business skills . 20 years later Blooms & Berries has used authentic farm experiences such as branded Fall Festival and U-Pick Strawberries to grow to over 50,000 guest visits in 2019 . Jeff says his recipe for success is authentic farm experiences, blended with a charming environment and a great staff . Jeff and his team grow U-Pick Strawberries, blueberries, sunflowers and pumpkins .
SHERYL INGRAM has been a passionate and creative gardener for nearly 30 years . She particularly loves working with custom and designer planters and arrangements, and with all types of interior plants (succulents, minis, fairies, house plants, etc .) . Seven years ago, Sheryl joined Meadow View Growers and has been able to express her creative talents even further . Meadow View’s valued customers enjoy participating in the various workshops which she organizes and leads .
DOUG BIEHLS is part owner of Starr Farms Partnership and Top Choice Produce in Connersville, Indiana . The farm operation has been practicing no-till for over 40 years . Doug has been growing pumpkins on a large scale for shipping to distribution centers across the US for 10 years . Currently he no-tills 400 acres of pumpkins and fall items into a cereal rye cover crop in the spring . Doug plans on sharing some of the many benefits to his production system as well as some of the pitfalls .
