The Permian Basin got its name from a magic oval created by the Permian Sea many millenniums ago. The climate here can be described as semi-arid. The rainfall averages about 14 inches but varies widely from year to year. Most of the rainfall occurs between April and October and the winter months are traditionally quite dry. The semi-arid climate is generally comfortable particularly in the evening and at nighttime.

Located halfway between Ft. Worth and El Paso on the southwestern edge of the High Plains, the altitude ranges from 2,550 to 2,900. Founded primarily as an agricultural center, the Permian Basin’s economic base shifted to oil during the 1920’s and the area rapidly became the administrative and exploration center of a booming industry. Today, our economy is involved in the manufacturing of steel, dairy products, plastics, and electronics. Oil field tools and equipment for a world market are also manufactured here.

that your stay with Midessa Oil Patch RV Park is enjoyable and relaxing. If you have any questions or need assistance,

please check with the manager or staff member on duty at the office.

• REGISTRATION IS A MUST! Since check-out is at noon, please let us know if you are needing to re-register. Should you have a GUEST, they too must register and there is a FEE.

• Please watch for small children. SPEED LIMIT IS 5 MPH.

• Please keep vehicles off grass and out of tree wells. Extra vehicle parking is available in the front area.

• Pets are welcome. State Law requires they be on a leash, under control, and walked in the designated area. Do not leave your pet at your site unattended.

• Please deposit trash in dumpsters.

• Please do not wash your vehicles in the park. See the ads in this booklet for options.

• NO LIFEGUARD ON DUTY! State Law requires children under the age of 14 to be accompanied by a parent.

• Parents are responsible for the behavior and safety of their children at all times. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult to the restroom and the store area.
