Step 1 – Download / Installation – 15-20 minutesEASY – Send you customers to your web site or www.mpginc.com and downloadPerformance Navigator (5.8MB). Self-extracting file installs the PC componentand guides the user through the installation of the 400 components.

If customer has PM/400 installed, PerfNav will have instant access to 90 days ofhistorical performance data (PM/400). Otherwise, PerfNav starts the performancecollection services (7x24).

Step 2 – Retrieving Data – 3-5 minutesEASY - From the File/SOS menu, just highlight your system name, fill-in theemail screen and click send.

Step 3 – Analysis – 15 minutesMPG analyzes the data and emails the results to the sales rep. Although there arehundreds of graphs, the following are the basic set.

Average CPU Utilization 1st Shift by date

Note: Trends for batch, interactive and system are all upward.

Maximum Interactive Interval by Date

Note: Interactive workload is regularly spiking beyond the interactive max.

Total Faulting by 1st Shift by date

Note: This graph shows both the Average and Maximum faulting rate each day during 1st shift.

Note: Two periods during the day peaked CPU utilization at the 80% guideline.

Average Disk Arm Utilization on Peak Day

Note: Arm utilization above 15% guideline twice during average day.
