West Salem Trinity UMC - Mt. Vernon, IL

The Pastor and the Chair of Ministry had a sports rivalry competition to get their

congregation to give donations to purchase Midwest Mission Distribution Center’s

Cleaning Buckets. The two month fundraiser collected about $1,700.00. Pastor

Quick, the Cubs fan raised about $700 and Randy Knox, the Cardinal fan raised

about 1,000. For a congregation of about 200, this generated excitement, especially

among the children. Mt Vernon, IL is about 90 miles from Busch Stadium (Cardinals)

and about 285 miles from Wrigley Field (Cubs). This rivalry has been going on for a

long time and is always a great way to bring the two fans together for one cause.

Thank you West Salem Trinity.

The mission of the Midwest Mission Distribution Center is to compassionately help God’s people in need locally,

nationally and around the world and to offer a center to fulfill the call for service to our neighbors in Christ’s Name.

Missions in Nicaragua

In February MMDC sent two shipments totaling 28,990 pounds of medical supplies,

sewing machines, Personal Dignity Kits, school bags and much more to World Mission

Outreach (WMO) ,in Hickory NC. In April WMO sent a group to Nicaragua on a mission

trip. A mission they focus on is teaching Trade Skill Education. One of the days they

focused on sewing to make clothes, blankets, sheets and anything else they may need

for their daily life or to sell and make a profit! They also handed out school bags and

Personal Dignity Kits to the children.

MMDC want to thank Linda Priest

for helping us out the first two

weeks of May. She is a blessing

to us at MMDC and we appreciate

all she does for us.

Nancy Collier finished off the

month. Without our Volunteer

Coordinators, MMDC could not

achieve its mission. Thank you for

your time and talent.
