    Hi All,

We are starting to dive into investigating and making campaign plans around a potential JBS IPO. Have any of you heard more about this? It would be great to find a time for us to touch base on this again in case there’s opportunities to collaborate. Do folks have time next week for a short call? Hope all is well!

    Hi Jessica,

Yes sorry that wasn’t clear- it is meant only for those who had signed onto the initial letter, since this letter essentially just asks for a response to the demands listed in the initial letter. CGF staff has made clear they are relying on us to help them hold member companies accountable and are looking for extra support, particularly as they work to establish a ‘High Ambition Working Group’ of companies committed to dropping deforesting suppliers this year. If Cl has relationships with member companies perhaps this can be raised in engagements (or already is!) Thanks for checking in and looking forward to making 2020 a year of action

    March X?

Dear CGF Executive and Sustainability Steering Committee,

It has been six months since our organizations wrote to demand evidence that the CGF and its

member companies take real action to eliminate deforestation in their supply chains. Since that

time, fires and deforestation have continued to destroy irreplaceable ecosystems across Latin

America, Africa, and Southeast Asia. However, CGF, and most of its member companies, have

remained silent and done very little to leverage their supply chain influence for tangible change.

It is now 2020 and we are in a clear planetary emergency. If CGF member companies do not

take ambition action to eliminate deforestation and human rights violations throughout their

own and suppliers' supply chains, then our agricultural system is poised to drive a catastrophic

and irreversible climate crisis. Doing nothing is not an option as these ecosystems collapse at an

exponential rate. We strongly reiterate our call for CGF member companies to refuse to do

business with deforesting suppliers, lest they become complicit in a self-defeating cycle of

exploitation, species extinction, and extreme weather changes. Time is running out. We are

again calling on CGF and its member companies to immediately adopt the steps outlined in our

prior letter, re-attached here, and also to launch the new High Ambition group as a matter or

    urgency.

Our organizations cannot sit silently by as our planet's last remaining forests are destroyed and

associated gross human rights violations take place. We have given you six months to

implement the suggestions in our prior letter and are disappointed- and concerned- by the lack

of real action. If the CGF and its member companies do not issue clear repercussions to

suppliers continuing to destroy forests and perpetrate human rights abuses then it means

endorsing and normalizing these practices, and the end to hope for a harmonious and livable

    future.

Our planet deserves real leadership. When and how will CGF respond?

    Sincerely,

    X

    Y
