Situation and AmenitiesMillaton House is located in a remarkably unspoilt part of Devon, yet communication links and local amenities are excellent. The location of the house means that the best of Devon and Cornwall can be enjoyed without the crowds and congestion.

S The closest village, Bridestowe, is only a 2 minute drive away. It is a thriving village with two churches, a primary school, post office/ village hall and a 17th Century Inn, The White Hart. There is a large Waitrose supermarket at Okehampton (6 miles) and the popular town of Tavistock is about 9 miles away with an excellent selection of local shops. Described in White’s directory in 1850 as a ‘Handsome mansion in tasteful grounds’, it was bought by Lord Carrington in 1924 and was the childhood home of Lord Peter Carrington, who was Foreign Secretary in Mrs. Thatcher’s government.
