The HOW, WHY and WHAT of music.

Reading, writing and understanding music theory are the building blocks to musical success. Our teachers follow the theory syllabus of the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) in conjunction with the examinations for voice, piano or other musical instruments. Theory Exams are a requisite for obtaining certification for Level 5-10 and Associate Diploma. Each level we offer allows you to advance your understanding of pitch and rhythm notation, music history, song writing and much more!

Preparatory (RCM 1-4) Suggested age: 8-12

Intermediate (RCM 5-6)Suggested age: 13 and up

ADVANCEd (RCM 7-8)Suggested age: 13 and up

harmony & History (RCM 9-Associate)

Suggested Age: 13 and Up

Theory instruction is usually part of the private lesson at these levels.Students may benefit from a more intentional focus on the rudiments of music in order to reach a greater potential for their instrument. Additional private or semi-private lessons are arranged at the discretion of the teacher and parent.

This is for the student who has been studying an instrument for some time OR it can be beneficial for an older beginner-student.Students that are pursuing RCM certification require co-requisite theory testing in order to complete levels 5 and up.This class includes exam preparation if desired.Private or semi-private lessons available.

This is for the student who is well established in their musical studies and is ready for the next challenge.Exam preparation may be the main motivation, but student musicianship is enhanced by learning the principles of good melody writing, guided music appreciation and the acquiring of standardized music notation literacy. Private or semi-private lessons available.

The MIMPA Difference

Our studio strives to create a "home away from home" environment for our students and their families. We produce extraordinary people

through the power of the performing arts. Our highly qualified teachers strive to find our students' best.

We believe that everyone should have their moment to shine.

MIMPA is more than performing arts training... it's training for life!

At Music in Motion Performing Arts, we sell moments. We celebrate those simple instances when students make possibility

into reality; transforming the fear of being on stage into the fascination of performance.

We want to be your favourite day of the week! Our MIMPA Team of teachers and staff all have the same focus; to provide incredible performing arts training in an encouraging and

joyful environment.

Moments. Memories. Magic.
