Quizzes play an important part in your grade and overall success in the course, so it’s important that you know exactly when and how to take them! Depending on how your instructor has set up the course, you may have a quiz assigned every three to four Assignment Chains. The purpose of each quiz is to measure your cumulative understanding and it will cover all the learning objectives assigned by your instructor up to that point. Quizzes must be completed by a certain date. You get a specific number of attempts to get the best grade possible before the deadline. A “T” means you have a Test.
To begin the quiz, click the Quiz circle off the dashboard.
If your instructor allows it, the calculator feature may be used on the quiz. You may use the interactive Whiteboard below the exercise to work out your answer.
If you have answered correctly, you will see a checkmark for a few moments and the number of the exercise in the navigation bar will update to display a checkmark. If you answer incorrectly, you will see an “X” for a few moments and the exercise number will update to display an “X”.

Green checkmark appears if the answer is correct.
Red “x” appears if the answer is incorrect.
In quiz mode, the following help features are disabled: • Messaging • Step-by-Step • Video • Read About It
When you’ve arrived at an answer, enter it in the input field and click Submit.
Using the Math Palette and Whiteboard
You may need to use the Math Palette and the Whiteboard to enter your answer or to show your work. The Math Palette allows you to input responses using math expressions or equations.
To input a response using the Math Palette, simply put your cursor in the input box and it will pop up. Select the symbol and it will show up in the Input box. You can enter your response into the blue boxes.
To use the Math Palette on the Whiteboard, select the Math Palette icon off the right hand toolbar. When you select one of the functions, it will appear in the large Input box. Then you’ll use your keyboard to enter numbers into the small blue input boxes within the math function. When you are done, select the green checkmark in the larger input box and your answer will display in the whiteboard area.
The Whiteboard is available when solving all exercises and automatically saves for future reference.

The navigation bar at the top of the screen tracks your progress throughout the quiz. The arrows to the left and right skip back or ahead by five exercises. Selecting any number in the bar will bring up that particular exercise.
During a quiz, you cannot re-answer exercises. Once you answer, the next exercise in the sequence will appear.
When all of the exercises have been answered to the best of your ability, select Submit Full Quiz.
The Wrap Up screen shows how many attempts you have left to retake the quiz. If you have attempts remaining, the Retake Quiz button will appear at the bottom of the screen. You can immediately retake the quiz but the new quiz will contain different exercises than the previous quiz you took. You can also choose to review the quiz material by exploring the Read About It, videos, games, practice exercises, or practice tests on your dashboard before you retake a quiz.
The number of the current exercise is always the blue circle with white text.

The Wrap Up screen indicates the total number of your correct and incorrect answers.
If you have more attempts remaining, you will have an option to retake the quiz.
If you have passed the quiz and have more assignments to complete, there will be an option to Go To Next Assignment.
