SHEPHERDS NOTES-Pst. Ching Nicolas
THE BODY OF CHRIST IN THE PHILIPPINES RISING.
Whenever God has a plan, He initiates it and works His will through one faithful soul that spreads thisout to his family, to his children, to his childrens children and to the people who would believe him, Gen 12: 1-
3in the case of Abraham.
God looks at the heart of man, as in the case of David.
No matter how little our strength is, the selfless things we do for the greater many impacts and honorsGod. Talking from experience, when God is pleased, in due time He shows us the fruit of our selfless labors.
The unity among the big blocks of Christian Groups in the Philippines (PJM, PCEC and IFP) held at theCuneta Astrodome reminds me of a big event in April 10, 2010 before the May 13 elections of the same year.
A big gathering of intercessors flocked to the Rizal Stadium to do a 3 days, 24 hours prayer and fasting
organized by the Intercessors of the Philippines (IFP).
On the third night of such event, I was whisked to the car for a clandestine operations led by our Senior
Pastor Francis Nicolas. I asked where we were going, but I received no replyso I settled to just watch and
pray.
We alighted in front of the Century Hotel. As we waited in silence at the coffee shop..i saw, Bishop
Sanchez approaching Pastor Francis. Then one by one, I saw the Leaders of these big Christian groups enter the
lobby of the hotel, Bishop Tendero of the Evangelical Churches, Bishop Fred Magbanua, Bishops Leo Alcongaand Eddie Villanueva of PJM came in separately. They greeted each other with the usual pleasantries.then
talked in hush- hush..and in a little while, they were happily exchanging hugs and sincere handshakes. Then
Pastor Francis motioned, it is time to go. He escorted the group of leaders, walked to the direction of Rizal
Stadium, Bro Cesar Balana and I tagging behind.
Lo and behold! on that night, there was a great rejoicing among a throng of intercessors GATHERED IN
THE STADIUM.for a reconciliation among our leaders has just occurred in the midst of the assembly.Erring parties washed each others feet, on the PASSOVER, on Gods appointed time.
Again this year 2013, we have witnessed another milestone in the 24th
National Assembly ofIntercessors attended by almost 7000-8000 strong intercessors, children, youths, young men and women, old
men and women, from different small churches in Manila and the provinces..THEY WERE THERE
PRESENT!

All of the above mentioned leaders except for Late Bishop Magbanua who graduated earlier and is now
with the Lord, were there to strengthen the growing need of the Christians to come together in unity in the Spirit
of God for a more effective ministry which can on be done by committing ourselves to much prayer,
CARRYING EACH OTHERS BURDEN AND fostering love for one another through the power of the HolySpirit. THUS, THE PRAYER OF JESUS CHRIST IS NOW MANIFESTED IN OUR MIDST.
The much talked about theme of the conference which is The Philippines at the threshold ofprophetic fulfillment brings us to a fork-road in our journey as Christians. The road we choose to tread will
determine our reward ON EARTH for our faithfulness and obedience to the voice of the Spirit of God or be leftbehind if we shrink back and listen to the spirits that cater only to our own selfish motives.
The Lord is coming back for the remnants who never bowed down to Baal. One can only surmise the
rejoicing of heavens angels and the cloud of witnesses (SEE PHOTO TO BE SHOWN OF THE MORNING
AFTER- AN UNUSUAL CLOUD FORMATION) cheering us up in our run to finish the course in the fullspectrum of the rainbow.

OUR HEARTS CRY OUT FOR THE PHILIPPINE CHURCH TO RISE UP BLAMELESS AND
WITHOUT STAIN, FULFILLING ITS PROPHETIC DESTINY IN THE LAST DAYS. THAT WE
MAY BE CALLED A SHEEP-NATION THAT WOULD BRING GLORY AND HONOR TO THE ONE
TRUE GOD WHO TRULY CARES FOR US. AND our SAVIOUR (JESUS CHRIST) WHO LAID
DOWN HIS LIFE FOR US SO WE CAN LIVE THIS NEW LIFE BY FAITH IN HIM AND IN THE
POWER OF HIS SPIRIT..THE ONLY SOLUTION TO OUR STRUGGLES AS WE LOOK UNTO
JESUS THE PERFECTER OF OUR FAITH!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Lady Is a MenschMargaret Thatcher's lesson in what makes people truly great.
by Rabbi Irwin Katso
While working as a fundraiser for Aish HaTorah, I often moved among the rich and famousmost of them men
and learned a great deal about the drive for success, nerves of steel and risk-taking. But it was from a lady that
I learned what it means to be a mensch -- a caring human being.
Larry King, with whom I had co-authored the bookPowerful Prayers, introduced me to Lady Margaret
Thatcher, and we invited her to receive the King David Award in recognition of her support for the Jewishpeople while she was the prime minister of Great Britain.
Why did she care so much for the Jews? In answer to that question, she told me a fascinating story.During World War II, a Jewish family from Eastern Europe had somehow connected with her parents and
requested that they temporarily house their daughter. The Jewish family could not get out, but they were able to
arrange a visa and ticket for their only child. At the time, Lady Thatcher's family was very poor and had barelyenough for themselves, but they took in this Jewish girl, who ended up staying with them the entire length of the
war and sharing Lady Thatcher's room. Lady Thatcher said that her parents taught her that it was essential to
help all people in need, but it was especially important to help the Jewish people, who had been so unfairly
persecuted throughout history. This was someone we very much wanted to honor.
CARING FOR THE LITTLE PEOPLEAfter a year of back and forth discussions with her staff and attempting to co-ordinate her schedule with ours,
she agreed to accept the King David Award at an elegant dinner at the Carlyle Hotel in New York to be held inMarch of 1997.
During the course of the evening, everyone wanted to have their picture taken with Lady Thatcher. She knew
this would happen and she had her assistant call us before the evening to find out color of the wall coverings inthe room, so that her outfit would not clash. She was popular. All one hundred of the participating couples posed for a picture with her, one couple at a time.
After they all filed through, you would think she'd had enough -- all the flash bulbs can be very irritating -- but
then she requested that we ask the orchestra members if they too wanted their picture taken.I was impressed. I had never seen such graciousness. I had worked with many celebrities and political leaders
and some were quite haughty about the whole picture-taking experience. They limited the number of photos orthey wouldn't do posed shots, or they insisted that no flash be used. Others were very accommodating but I havenever had anyone suggest additionalphotos with staff.
After I arranged the photos for the violinist and the harp player, Lady Thatcher suggested that perhaps the chef
of the hotel and his staff would also like their picture taken. I was amazed. I was also getting a bit concerned. I
wasn't sure just how long this was going to continue. There is a big staff at the Carlyle -- we could be doing thisall night. Luckily, it stopped after the chef. I was impressed though. She was a real lady who understood the
importance of being good to "the little people."
IRON LADYA few months later, she agreed to come on one of our missions to Israel and I witnessed the same behavior. She
was accompanied by three Scotland Yard security personnel. She had an armored van and a chase car that
followed the van. Her security detail came to Israel three days prior and cased each venue. They explained that
for the first dinner -- at the Rockefeller Museum in Arab-populated East Jerusalem -- that everyone would needto be seated and then she would walk in and proceed straight to her seat and sit down. She would have her back
to the wall with guards beside her to stop anyone from approaching her.
Well, I saw why she was known as the "Iron Lady." She had her own plans. She walked into the banquet room, and to the consternation of her Scotland Yard guards, she took the next 20 minutes to circle around each table
and shake hands with each and every guest. People were so enthused and felt so touched by her personal
warmth, lack of pompousness and genuine human caring. When she came to our table, she stopped and kneeled down to meet my 5-year-old daughter Bracha eye-to-eye.
She shook her little hand and had a short conversation. She asked Bracha her name and her age, and looked as if
she was genuinely enjoying herself.

A dinner at the Knesset concluded the trip, and there were many important guests and speakers. Prime Minister
Bibi Netanyahu spoke, Mayor of Jerusalem Ehud Olmert spoke, Senator Joe Biden spoke, New Jersey Governor
Christine Whitman spoke. Of course, each speaker was introduced, with their many accomplishments listed.
During this time, the dinner participants had been served the salad course only. When it came Lady
Thatcher's turn to speak, she got up and said only a few words, announcing that she had just ripped up
her prepared speech "to ribbons." Then she declared, "I have never lost an election and this is because I
can read a crowd. This crowd is hungry. As a woman and mother, I say Serve dinner!'"As she sat down to tremendous applause, I was reminded of the quality that God values above all in a great
leader. Both Moses and David were shepherds who were chosen to lead the Jewish people because they showedcompassion for small defenseless lambs. It was when each had demonstrated this trait that God said "You whotend little sheep with such mercy will be a compassionate leader for My people."
