Shepherd's Gate Conference is just a few days away. Most conferences tend to have good participation during the worship services but poor attendance during the educational aspects. Thus the reason God said in Hosea 4: 6 (KJV) "My people perish from a lack of knowledge."

Many of us have gone to great lengths to prepare a conference that will be a blessing to you as well as to your people. Elder Teon Mayweather has organized a series of classes that will definitely catapult your Church to another level but it will only do so with your participation.

We will gather in the Sanctuary at Calvary Baptist Church Saturday morning, September 14, 2013 at 8:30 a.m. for a brief time of prayer, praise, worship and instructions for the day. Classes begin at 9:00 a.m.

There are 3 classes for Pastors and their Spouse.

9:00 - 10:30 – Bishop Jerry Hutchins

"Breaking Growth Barriers".

Regardless of the size of our churches, we have all experienced the glass ceiling and have struggled to grow beyond a certain point. We will have a serious discussion regarding the things that keep our churches from growing and then provide solutions that can be implemented and growth experienced. You can not afford to miss this class.

9:00 – 10:30“Breaking Growth Barriers”

Elder Shaunde Gray

While Bishop Hutchins is teaching the Pastors and their Spouse, Elder Shaunde Gray of Spirit and Truth Church, New Orleans Louisiana will teach the laity on the same subject matter. She will cause the laity to see that Church growth is not just a Pastoral responsibility. Laity has an important role in growing the Church. The Laity of the Church certainly needs to hear what Elder Gray has to say on this issue.

10:45 - 12:15 Pastor Timothy Gleaton with teach Pastors and Spouses from his latest book "Putting God to the Test". All of us can use help getting people to tithe consistently. Pastor Gleaton has studied the history of the tithe, its 3-fold purpose and its 6 Biblical benefits. He has a powerful testimony that he will share with the class along with a practical approach that will help us increase the tithing population in our Churches. Don't miss this opportunity.

10:45 - 12:15 Pastor Rodney Spencer will teach the laity how to become mid-wives and give birth to the vision of the house. Every Pastor has had to wrestle with the frustrations of having vision that we felt we had adequately cast but it seemed that few were running with it. Pastor Spencer is going to talk to the members of our Churches and tell them what they can do to help bring the vision into manifestation.

We will have lunch from 12:15 until 1:30.

1:30 – 2:45 Pastor Jeremy Tuck will join the Pastors and their spouse to help us understand the world of technology. His class is titled "Pastoring in a Post-modern World." History proves that society functions about a generation ahead of the Church. By the time the Church purchased typewriters, society was using computers. By the time the Church got a PC, society had moved to MAC. Many churches still do not have websites and society has already moved to Facebook Pages. Pastor Tuck will help us understand the pros and cons of social media and how it should be used ministry to in the Post-modern world.

1:30 – 2:45

Pastor Gleaton will go into the laity class after lunch and teach them the same information that he taught the Pastors earlier but from a different angle. He will challenge those who are not tithing to do so and those who are tithing will be trained to help the Pastor encourage others to become tithers. God did say "prove me now herewith". That's what "Putting God to the Test" is all about.

We will all gather back in the sanctuary at 3:00 for a brief summary and impartation from Bishop Hutchins
