• Data Domain Classification (Domain Function and Subject Activity): The categorization for Records Series, based on MnDOT’s Data Management model of domains and subject areas.
• No.: A sequential numbering of Records Series on the retention schedule. • Title: The name of the Records Series. • Description: Additional information to define the scope of the records series. • Citation: The legal citation, if any, that includes a required retention period. • Retention/Disposition
o Trigger: The event, if any, that triggers the start of the retention period. o Time (yrs): The time in years that the record must be retained after the trigger event. o Disposition: The instruction for what to do with the record when it reaches its required retention period.
Key to complex retention rules:
