THE TWINS: Began their seven game road trip leading up to the All-Star break with a loss at Seattle Monday night followed by two wins Tuesday night (2-0) and Wednesday night (8-1)...tonight they continue their final road trip before the break with the fourth and final game against the M’s — all night games...following the Seattle series, the Twins will finish the “first half” with three in Colorado...Minnesota is 3-2 in their last five games overall and 3-1 in thier last four road games. SLUGGING IN SEATTLE: The Twins defeated the Mariners last night by a score of 8-1, earning their second straight road win, their first consecutive road wins since June 11 & 13 against Detroit and Toronto...Kyle Gibson (8-7) was the starter and winner, giving up just seven hits and one walk while striking out three in 6.0 shutout innings...Twins starters have allowed just two runs, both solo homers vs. Correia on Monday, in their last three starts, posting a 0.89 ERA (20.1 IP, 2 ER) while walking four and striking out 12...the Twins were out-hit by the Mariners 9-12...Kendrys Morales drove in three with a double and Chris Colabello went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI...Brian Dozier collected his fourth career two-double game with doubles in his first two at-bats. STRONG STARTS: The Twins starting rotation has posted four straight quality starts on the road, since June 29 at Texas...over the four starts they are 3-1 with a 1.27 ERA (28.1 IP, 4 ER), allowing just 28 hits and four walks while striking out 15. Twins pitchers did not allow a run in 16.0 straight innings from the 8th inning Monday night to the 7th inning last night, a mark that tied their season-high (also 6/10-11). DOZIER PRE-ASG BULLETS: Brian Dozier has scored 65 runs pre-ASG, a mark that leads all AL players...he is tied for fifth on the Twins all-time pre-ASG runs list and has scored the most runs pre-ASG since Matt Lawton scored 67 in 2001. If Dozier plays in each of the Twins final four games, he will have played in 92 games pre- ASG, tied sixth all-time by a Twin and most since Morneau played in 95 pre-ASG in 2008.
