Progress in Increasing Diversity
o The fall 2009 student body is the largest and most diverse in ASU’s history.
o 18,600 minority students are currently enrolled, representing 27% of ASU’s enrollment.
o Degrees awarded to minority students increased more than 85% in the past 10 years.
Progress in Increasing Diversity
o Minority students represent 33% of new undergraduates.
o Among Arizona residents, minorities represent 37% of new freshmen and 31% of new transfer students.
o Minority freshmen retention has improved during the past decade. This trend is now reflected in improving graduation rates.

2009 College Reorganization
Programs in the College of Applied Arts and Sciences were merged into the College of Nursing and Health Innovation, the School of Letters and Sciences, and the College of Technology and Innovation
Programs in the College of Human Services were merged into the College of Public Programs and the New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences
Many departments in the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences were consolidated into schools to advance interdisciplinary education and research
Three departments merged to form the School of Design Innovation
