Physicals
• All Physical Forms will be turned into myself or JoAnn Schmidt
• We in turn will give the athlete a clearance card
• Until you receive a clearance card from the athlete signed by myself or JoAnn, they are not to practice or play.
Student Insurance
• Now online

• Football- $335
• All Other Sports- $105• Football Insurance is only valid for the football season. If they plan
to play another sport, they must pay the additional $105 dollars.• The Other Sports is one time payment of $105 and is valid for all
sports all year except football.• Student should print to proof of insurance certificates. One to keep
and one to staple to the back of their athletic packet.
School Police
• You need to Call In and Call Out with School Police whenever you are on campus on weekends or vacation days.
• 619.291.7678• If you forget to call out and realize later that you forgot, still call
school police to check out. If it has only been a few hours or it’ still early evening, you can still call out.
New Coach’s
• They must be cleared before season begins. Coaches are not allowed on the field until they are cleared.
• Who needs to be cleared: 1. Paid assistant’s 2. Volunteers
• What do they need to do to be cleared: 1. Take and pass Coaching Education Class 2. Take and pass Concussion Training Class 3. Be CPR/First-Aid Certified 4. Concussion Certificate 5. Sudden Cardiac Arrest Certificate 6. Have TB test done within the last 60 days 7. Bring Social Security Card and Drivers License or Passport 8. Bring all the above and see Rosi Susalla in front office

the front office.

Fundraising

• Fundraisers need to be pre-approved by ASB
• When using you Club account to pay bills– Invoice date must be after the date you turn in
request – Anything that cost over $500 you need 3 quotes – If the company needs a P.O. you will need to pay with credit
card and be reimbursed.
Indebtedness
• Please email Veronica in Finance if you need to place a student on the Indebtedness list.
• What they owe and the cost for replacement.
• If student returns items, email Veronica so she can take them of the list.

CIF Practice Limitations
• All teams are limited to 18 hours of practice weekly• All teams are limited to 4 hours of practice in a single day• Double day practices may not be held on consecutive days and
must have a minimum of 3 hours of rest between practices• Competitions (games) count 3 hours towards the 18 hours a week• Activities that count towards practice time:
1. Film sessions after school
2. Weight training after school 3. Meetings outside of school hours
• Activites that do not count towards practice time hours 1. Study hall 2. Tutorial Sessions 3. Team Meals
TransfersSit Out Period
• During your preseason meetings, identify transfer students and get them to me
30 day sit out period if you want them to play Varsity• If played 3 seasons previous year, must sit out all 3
seasons this year• No JV during that time only practice• If they play JV during that time, cannot play varsity
at any time including playoffs• Become Eligible

Playoffs
• You can see what division you are currently in at CIFSDS.org under the coaches tab
• Elite Division will be made up of the top 8 teams in Division 1• When building your non-league and tournament schedule, try
to schedule teams who are in your Division. • Enter your schedule and post your scores on the
cifsdshome.org website. This is what they use to rank teams for playoffs along with the league rep rankings.
CIF Dates
• Schedules Due– October 1st for Winter Sports– December 1st for Spring Sports
• First Day of Practice– November 14th for Winter Sports– February 20th for Spring Sports
Facilities
• Leave it better then when you entered it• Make sure Doors are Locked when you leave• Make sure locker rooms are supervised• Have your athletes pick up trash before leaving the facility• If you see a spill….. Get an athlete or manager to clean it• If you see a pile of trash….. Get an athlete or manager to clean it• If you need a trash can…… Get an athlete or manager to find one• We all need to chip in

Out of Town Travel
• Must be approved by the board if heading out of state.
• Any travel out of SD needs the following– Intinerary (When are you leaving, How you are getting there, Where
you’re staying, Contact numbers, When you are coming home)
– Signed Parent permission Slips
– Roster of Students who are going
– Copy of Drivers License and Insurance of drivers
Off Season Training
• Cannot be mandatory• Cannot take attendance• Must be open to all students• Bulletin notices should include:
– "All students welcome”– “ No experience necessary”
• Promotional Flyers cannot say: – “You must participate to make the team”– “For returning players only”
Off Season Training cont.
• Need to fill out Facility Reservation form and turn into me for approval so it can go on master calendar.
• If you are playing against other high school teams in the off-season, you need to join AAU to become an official “club team” (Baseball, Basketball, Football, Softball)
• You must go through rentals and pay $10 permit fee• Teams that are in season have priority to facility’s
– Any off season training wishing to use a facility must work around the in-season team(s)
– When it is time for in-season practice to begin, off-season team should vacate the facility……even if they are not there.
Off Season Training cont.• Athletes do not belong to one program• If they are participating in another sport, they are not to
be disciplined either physically or mentally by another off season coach or assistant coaches
• I should never hear from athletes that they are being told not to play another sport
• I should never hear from a coach that athletes are not coming out for my team because……….
• I should not have to mediate between 2 grown adults arguing over teenage kids.
