Farming pattern in Tai O in the last decade changes from internal economy to external economy. Local subsistence practice is no longer economic visible in the half decade with slow pace of local modernalization the half decade with slow pace of local modernalization which is imcomparable with Hong Kong side. Tai O agricultre is facing the extinct dilemma and completely dependent on external market from Hong Kong. Feasible possibility shows in small scale ecological organic tourism business. Organic farming practice with tourism elements extend the life span of Tai O argiculture.

Fruit
Fruit were planted on lower slope behind the vallage and paddy field. Pineapple is one of the most favourite fruit grown in Tai O for high profitability between 1950 to 70. Pineapple need almost no irrigation and adopts to sandy infertile soil. Low maintainance throught the growing period but preparation time.

Farmers maximised the cutivation period of farmland to grow different crops in the year. Some cash crops serve as product and aslo fertilisers and extra nutrient to other crops. This cycling practice helps farmers to increase income.

(data was collected in 1966)It shows that income of planting rice ,vegetables and fruit is of the highest,
So,after the 1960s,farmers began to grow vegetables and fruits due to their higher efficiency

Animal Hushandary and fruit growingare both marketing agriculture productswith fast turnover.
Lack of LabourThe rapid decreased in agriculture manpower hinderedthe growth in Farming industry in Tai O since 1970.Weaker farming members reduce the incentive of agriculture development in terms of both quality and farming technologyand utimately the quantity.
Modernisation in Hong KongSince 1970, majority of Tai Os young and strong farmers were attacted to work in Hong Kong and Kowloon for better job opportunity, higher income and better living standard. Only the elderly andyoungsters are still living in Tai O.
Competition from Hong Kong Import FoodLimited agriculture technology in Tai O farming industry restricted the increase in production andincome. Mass production crop imported from Hong Kongtook up the entire market which lead to the end of marketing farming industry in Tai O.
Production CostDuring the rise of economic growth since 1960, production cost in agriculture increased very fast. Low profitability from farming industry led to the loss of farming population and stroke the income of the practisers.
Tai os PopulationTai Os Population increased steadily until the rapid growth Chinas refugees in 1950s. But a tremendous and continuous declined from 1970s with the pull factors of city modernisation in Hong Kong.
IndustrializationThe scale of Tai O farmland restricts the implementation of larage scale industrialization. Cheaper product by mass production from Hong Kong gradually replaced the local goods. The price and quality of local crop is incompetable.
Factors lead to the change in Tai O farming pattern

Project Title: Freshwater factory Type: personal workComplete Date: May 2012
As we know, fresh water is of great importance to survival of most plants and animals. ,although water is very present on earth, 97% is salted and 2% is blocked as ice. Actually, here is only about 1% left of liquid freshwater.
Tai O is a coastal village, freshwater is mainly collected from stream of mountain, but because of increasing demand of freshwater of residents and industries in the future, establish of huge fresh water treatment system will be much more necessary, we call it FPS. So this deign mainly focus on how freshwater will be produced ,filtered, and transported, and what magical landscape effects the facilities will bring to the TAI O area.

Transporting pipe is transparent which is also slanted(by this way, water can betransported with the help of gravity). Description of the whole system and direction ofwater's flow will be marked on face of pipe, so that people may have knowledge ofwhere the water they use come from and how it is filtered, produced. Because ofgradiwent of pipes, they can be also used as landscape facilities, people can walk, sit, rest above it. During night, spotlight hidden beneath the pipe make they look like lightband.

Extra platform for people
Population now in Hong Kong is more than 7122000 which is the second highest in the world. Because of geological aspect
and increasing population, the whole urban construction mainly develops in horizontal
direction. But any way this kind of development has limitation, so reclamation seems the most
effective method, Constant reclamations may also bring serious seawater pollution.
Therefore setting floating arrangeable platform will be an eco-friendly way
In Hong Kong, years of large scale fishing activity has contributed to gradually decline of local fishing industry.
Although several years before, the law prohibit any personal fishing activity, besides that some artificial fishing reefs were set on the seabed which aims to enhance fishing distribution. But data shows the density of fishing distribution is seriously unbalanced. Actually the seabed reef can not be set in busy
watertraffic area and shallow area, also it can not serve surface fish. But also these can be seasily resolved by
suspending artificial reef. Setting suspending artificial reef will be a more effective and biological way.
Seawater pollution is serious in Hong Kong but no way can fully
resolve this problem immerdiately. What we can do is first filtering in small scale then the entire water quality will be enhanced gradually.
HK is located in the centre of migratory routes.Providing more habitat on breeding, migratory, or wintering areas are all important to sustain bird populations.Birds are crucial to the healthy func-
tioning of many natural systems on Earth. Birds of all kinds have played important roles in human history, yet waterbirds share with us special,
intimate relationships based on admiration, imagination, exploitation, and the watery habitats we both require or enjoy. The importance of these
species ranges from the biological niches they occupy to nutrition, income, and aesthetic inspiration.First and foremost, waterbirds play an integral role in a variety of ecosystems. They are recyclers, predators, and prey. Because they require water and associated habitat of adequate quality and quantity, their successes or declines are indicative of the health of
environments.
At present, shellfish eating is not safe in Hong Kongaccording to the survey, theres large amount of
pollutant element in seawater sampleswhich is mainly from he Pearl River Delta region. nevertheless, marine
shellfivsh is easily polluted by heavy metals because of its characteristics of filter-feeding, poison and eaten toxic algae will be collected in body. Therefore after eating
shellfish, food poisoning may probably happen to people. so providing a filtered shellfish culture environment will
be much more better and healthy.

At the same time, the division of space allows flexible use of courtyard space for releasing, lunch and leisure chat. People can also move benches according to their social needs or following the shadow. The scheme aims at soften and widen the rigid rectangular courtyard. Paving material is granite quadrel with light yellow color, combined with golden fresh leaves of Duranta Repens and green Ophiopogon Jaburan, the whole atmosphere is mild, soft, suitable for resting. Other construction material and paving of BBQ area is concrete which keeps style much more simple and easy understanding. Moreover, as the space dose not heavily divided, users can also bring out some chairs from the firm and put on the central area if they need. So main idea of the courtyard is simple, adjustable. Most people just stay there during break of work-time, so too abundant landscape is not needed which may trouble mood of people on the contrary.

Railway Geographic Location: Lying in the center of Enterprise Pavilion
the significances of railway lie in transmission and connection. From the plane, Railway Pavilion plays as a hub connecting Enterprise Pavilion from all directions
Since Railway Pavilion lies in the center of Enterprise Pavilion, it serves as the key hinge of the whole network, linking with surrounding pavilions
Pavilions locating in the cross angels take the role of extending room from a macro-perspective, with its four corners facing blank. Thus, Enterprise Pavilion could not only be taken as a guide, but also leave tourists a public room for fun and entertainment.
