Agenda: discussion of priorities in draft Action Plan

Major comments and recommendations:• More and sharper choices needed in research

programming• Need for stronger interaction and co-operation between

domains of animal and human health• Need for European Centre for Epidemiology and

Infectious diseases is urgent; concern about continuity of budget if physical instead of virtual; task areas defined

• Special attention required for activities contributing to a consistent European approach of regulatory issues

Plan to continue (from 2008 on)

Terms of reference:• Input in (inter)national research agendas from a

shared opinion or mutual understanding of Dutch stakeholders;

• Improvement of understanding and co-operation among stakeholders on the national level

• Improvement of co-operation between human and animal health institutions

Modus operandi: informal platform with participation of human health institutions working in the field of zoonoses (both food-borne and non food-borne)
