Classroom Rules

1. Be Respectable.2. Follow Directions.3. Keep hands, feet, and

objects to yourself.4. Follow the Golden Rule –

Treat others like you would want to be treated!

Rules decided by:

- The rules would be decided by me (the teacher), but I will explain them in great detail to the students.

- As a class we will discuss the importance of these specific rules.

Introduced- Posted on the front wall - Sending home a letter

to parents on the 1st day and ask for it to be signed and returned

Transition: Lining up to leave the classroomC – Students can be a level one (whisper) until they step out the door then at a level zero (no talking)H – A student can raise their hand and the teacher will address the studentA – The transition is changing location and this should take 1-2 minutesM – The student can only go to the trash or grab a Kleenex, but then get in line.P – The student is fully participation if they walks to get in line using only a whisper voice when their color or shape is called.

Building Positive Student-Teacher Relationships

“All About Me Backpack” 1. Give all students a brown paper bag, and

precut construction paper pieces. 2. Walk through step by step gluing on each

piece3. Guide the students through filling out the

“about me” section of the backpack. (Help with spelling – by writing words on the board and walking around)

4. Glue on the backpack straps5. Throughout the first day of school

everyone will share what their “all about me backpack says”

6. Set up along the windowsill or display board in the room.

7. These will be for me as the teacher to put positive or encouraging notes in throughout the school year. The student will be able to check them on Fridays.
