Tools:• Scissors (paper & fabric)• Sewing machine that can do machine embroidery• A4 sheet of paper• Ruler & pencil

Sewing Machine:• Thread up your sewing machine with the matching thread. Set your sewing machine to straight

stitch and the stitch length is 2.5. • Make sure your sewing needle is suitable to the fabric you are using. In this case use a needle

suitable to the leatherette.• It is best practice to machine sew a test piece of material to ensure that you have the settings

right, and you are happy with the stitching. • The Lunchbag clutch includes a seam allowance of ½” (1 cm).

    To Make:

Take the A4 sheet of paper, ruler and pencil.

Place the sheet of paper on the table and mark out two squares 1.5” 4cm in size on the bottom of both sides of the paper and cut out. (See image)

    Note: Image not to scale.

    This is now your pattern.

Fold the leatherette in half, wrong side to wrong side.

Place the pattern onto the leatherette and cut out.

You should now have two sides to the bag.

Place the leatherette right side to right side and machine sew (straight stitch) down one side of the bag only. (Seam allowance of ½” / 1 cm)

Open up the bag and lay flat.

Choose a sewing machine embroidery stitch you like and machine sew in place across the top of the bag only.

Fold the bag right side to right side again and machine sew (straight stitch) down the opposite side.

Machine sew along the base of the bag, ignoring the two square sections.

After completing the two side and bottom seams, pull the bottom corners straight together lining up the side seam with the bottom seam on both sides. Sew flat along the seam creating a rectangular base to the bag.

Turn the bag right side out, roll down the top and the bag is ready to use.
