Grove Mission
It is the end of another busy year. Thank you to all pupils, staff and parents for the support
and hard work.
Even though it is the last week we have, as always, fitted lots of things in. The Year 6 children
delivered a fantastic, bespoke end of year production. We couldn’t have fitted anymore
children in if we had tried. Four children from year 5 represented the school at an Athletics event
at the London Olympic stadium.
We had the annual House Point winners trip. The children in team Ennis had a fantastic time
playing ten pin bowling and then having a picnic and time at a play area in Finsbury Park. The
children can earn points from any member of staff, for manners, punctuality, attendance, attitude
to work, home learning and much more.
The year 6 children also had their graduation ceremonies. It is the first time that we have had one
on the South as they have been the first Mission Grove children to go through from Reception to
Year 6. The North site graduation was delayed slightly by a pigeon gate crashing the event.
Last night the children came back to school for a party to celebrate their time at Mission Grove.
Today has been a mix of clearing things up, collecting things and saying goodbyes.
As always we will be making some improvements to the school over the holidays. All of the works
will be taking place on the North site this summer. The new boilers have been installed in the old
building and they are up grading the pipes , so hopefully this winter we will be warm! The
Reception are getting new toilets installed and we are replacing the wooden red door leading into
the kitchen area.
Thank you to everyone who responded to the PTA survey on the APP. The majority of people voted
for a 9am start with no major preference for the day. The first meeting will be on Thursday 12th
September on the North site. As Sam, the current chair, will no longer be a parent at the school a
member of the leadership team will start the meeting. I would like to thank Sam and the other
parents from children in year 6 who have been involved with the PTA for all of their support over
the years. The success of the events we hold are due to the commitment from parents and staff
to organise and run all the activities.
Unfortunately, we will be saying goodbye to Tania. She has been at the school for 15 years and
will be sadly missed by us all. We wish her and all of the people leaving us the very best for the
future.
I hope you all have a fantastic holiday and see you on Wednesday 4th September . K.Jennings
Holiday club is running for 4 weeks over the summer. Mr Taylor supervises the club and
there are activities for Nursery to year 6 children. This is a paid facility and payment is
expected before the club starts.
