The first half of the year, several staff hours were increased due to the additional time needed for the provision of our current services and programs. A Development/Public Relations staff person was hired in June. This position was brand new, a first in the history of our agency. By virtue of the development approach in an organization, changes in the way we look at our programs and services have required some additional strategic planning. The Pennsylvania State Budget Impasse affected Multi-Service in that there was no receipt of contract monies from the Berks County Area Agency on Aging (over 60’s programs) and Human Services Development Fund (under 60’s programs), from July to December, 2015. With support from the community, we were able to take one month at a time and maintain our programs and services. When the governor released emergency monies to the counties, we were ready to receive. One very troubling fact remaining as we enter the new year is that there is still no state budget. This political situation alone has validated our need for a “development” program. We look ahead to continuing to meet the needs of families and individuals in the greater Boyertown area. Becoming a self- sustaining organization is a very necessary goal in the future of Boyertown Area Multi-Service, so that we may continue to fulfill our purpose. Thank you to our Donors! While we truly appreciate each donation received, we would like to acknowledge the following donors who contributed $1,000 or more to Multi-Service in 2015.* *We have made every effort to capture all donors over $1,000. If your name was inadvertently omitted, please accept our apologies and make us aware of the omission so we may appropriately acknowledge your gift next year.

Report from the Executive Director:2015 was a year of purposeful change for Boyertown Area Multi-Service, Inc. The first half of the year, several staff hours wereincreased due to the additional time needed for the provision of ourcurrent services and programs.

A Development/Public Relations staff person was hired in June. Thisposition was brand new, a first in the history of our agency. By virtueof the development approach in an organization, changes in the waywe look at our programs and services have required some additionalstrategic planning.

The Pennsylvania State Budget Impasse affected Multi-Service inthat there was no receipt of contract monies from the Berks CountyArea Agency on Aging (over 60’s programs) and Human ServicesDevelopment Fund (under 60’s programs), from July to December,2015. With support from the community, we were able to take onemonth at a time and maintain our programs and services. When thegovernor released emergency monies to the counties, we were readyto receive. One very troubling fact remaining as we enter the newyear is that there is still no state budget. This political situation alonehas validated our need for a “development” program.

We look ahead to continuing to meet the needs of families andindividuals in the greater Boyertown area. Becoming a self-sustaining organization is a very necessary goal in the future ofBoyertown Area Multi-Service, so that we may continue to fulfillour purpose.

Thank you to our Donors!

While we truly appreciate each donation received, we would liketo acknowledge the following donors who contributed $1,000 ormore to Multi-Service in 2015.*
