He’ll counter Generals LHP Anthony Vasquez (1-1, 3.38). LAST TIME OUT: The M-Braves and Jackson split a doubleheader at Trustmark Park Sat- urday night with the M-Braves taking game one 3-1 and the Generals winning game two 7-2. In game one, Jackson took a 1-0 lead in the top of the third. Chris Taylor was hit by a pitch with two outs, and Leon Landry followed with a double to center. An error by the center fielder on the play allowed Taylor to score and put the Gener- als out front early. La Stella, Edward Salcedo and Jose Marnez all singled to load the bases in the boom of the fourth. Chrisan Marrero then delivered a bases- clearing double to right-center field, pung the M-Braves out front 3-1. Michael Lee (7-8) went six and one-third for the M-Braves. He gave up one unearned run on six hits while fanning two. Roenis Elias (6-11) gave up three earned runs on seven hits and a walk. He struck out four baers in four and one-third innings pitched. Ryne Harper (S, 7) came on to record the final two outs and notch the save. In game two, the Generals took a 1-0 lead in the first. Taylor singled and stole second. Aſter steal- ing third, Taylor came in to score on an errant throw by the catcher. Jackson made it a 3-0 game in the second when Denny Almonte launched a two-run homer to right field. Ji-Man Choi had doubled to start the frame. The Generals made it a 4-0 game in the third. Ramon Morla doubled and took third on a wild pitch. He then came in to score on a Ji-Man Choi single to right field. Bethancourt and La Stella led off the boom of the fourth with back-to-back singles, pung runners at the corners. Robby Hefflinger then delivered a RBI-single to leſt field, cung the Generals lead to 4-1. Jackson added three runs in the top of the seventh to make it a 7-1 game but the M-Braves responded to score one in the boom of the frame and make it 7-2. Stephen Kolscheen (5-3) picked up the win for the Generals since Forrest Snow was not eligible. Snow limited the Braves to one earned run on five hits in four innings. Joe Bisenius (0-1) suffered the loss, working six frames for the M-Braves. He gave up four runs, three earned, on seven hits and a walk while fanning four. GETTING ON BASE: Bethancourt is currently on a 37-game on-base streak, dang back to June 13. During that span, he raised his bang average from .242 to .278. He’s chasing Willie Cabrera’s OB streak of 38 games which was set in 2009. aſter 8/10 STREAKIN: In addion to Bethancourt’s current on-base streak, ouielder Dan Brewer has a 18-game on-base streak at this me. Mycal Jones also strung together an 18- game on-base streak and a 16-game hing streak, posng a .403 bang average, from July 19-August 7. aſter 8/10 NEW RECORD: Tommy La Stella set a new M-Braves record with a 23-game hing streak (.386, 34-88) that ran from July 5 to August 5. La Stella broke the M-Braves record for longest hing streak in team history with a RBI-double in the first inning at Joe Davis Stadium in Huntsville on 8/3. The previous record belonged to Carl Loadenthal and had stood since 2007. LEAGUE LEADERS: As a team the M-Braves enter this series with the best ERA in the league at 3.09 and the second-best bang average at .252. Jaime Pedroza enters the series with the third-best bang average in the Southern League at .293 and Jose Marnez sits fiſth with a .291 mark. Chrisan Marrero’s 74 walks rank third and his .364 OBP ranks fiſth. Mycal Jones ranks third in the league with 29 stolen bases on the year while RHP Gus Schlosser ranks second with a 2.33 ERA. LAST TIME OUT: The M-Braves and Jackson split a doubleheader at Trustmark Park Sat-urday night with the M-Braves taking game one 3-1 and the Generals winning game two 7-2.
