MITCHELLS ISLAND PUBLIC SCHOOL Newsletter Wednesday Term 3, Week 1—2018 Principal’s Message Welcome back for what is set to be a very busy and exciting term! Canteen: There is NO CANTEEN tomorrow. NAIDOC Celebrations: We will be holding our NAIDOC celebrations on Monday 30th July, commencing at 9am. Parents are welcome to attend. Morning tea will be provided for the parents & carers. Zone Athletics Carnival: Congratulations to Denver, Tannor, Marcus, Bethany, Emily, Hannah & Gracie for qualifying for the Zone Athletics Carnival. A permission note is coming home today for the carnival which will be held in Tuncurry on Wednesday, 8th August. Homework 2-6: A homework grid was sent home with students yesterday. Please encour- age your children to complete their homework each week. Establishing good homework hab- its now will help them greatly when they reach high school. George’s Marvellous Medicine: Notes will be coming home today for this excursion to the Manning Entertainment Centre. This is a whole school excursion with transport to the MEC by bus. Major Excursion: Our November excursion will now be held in Bathurst and Dubbo. We will be looking for gold on the Bathurst Goldfields and visiting Jenolan Caves before heading to Dubbo to see the Zoo and Dubbo Gaol. With subsidies from the school and a generous con- tribution by the P&C, we are able to keep the costs at the same price as originally quoted; $300 per child and $425 per adult. Notes are attached and deposits will now be taken. Please speak to Mrs Wilson if you have any questions or concerns about the excursion. Wizard of Oz: Roles have been cast and we have started learning lines for our play. Please remind your children to practise their lines if they have a speaking part. The play will be held on Thursday, 20th September at 6pm at the Mitchells Island Hall. We are having difficulties finding large white or light coloured sheets to paint for the backdrops. Principal’s Message Welcome back for what is set to be a very busy and exciting term!

TAREE ATHLETIC CLUB INC.

(Incorporating Little Athletics and Senior Athletics)

Welcome to Taree Athletic Club for the 2018-2019 Season.

Taree Athletic Club meets weekly at the Basketball Side of the

Taree Recreation Ground.

Athletics is a fun sport covering all aspects of running, jumping

and throwing events.

This year’s season will commence with Registration Days on

Friday 7th and 14th of September commencing at 4.30 till

5.30pm. At Taree Rec ground.

All registrations are online this year at http://

www.littleathletics.com.au/ click on online registration and fol-

low prompts.

Athletics first competition day is Friday 21st September. 4.30pm

start

Our current Annual Registration Fees are as follows:-

Tiny Tots (3 - 4 years) and U6’s $100.00

U7’s - U17’s $100.00

Come down for a 2 week trial and see how much fun you can
