MJLBL is very proactive in providing the best products and services to the customers. The highlighted events portray the dedication and hardwork of our teams. I thank my respected colleagues, Mr. Md. Welcome to the January 2017 edition of our half yearly newsletter. We concluded the year 2016 with mixed sentiments - overcoming many business hurdles, letting go emotional attachments and at the end achieved around 4% Sales volume growth and 2.5% Sale Revenue growth over 2015 in lube business.
This edition covers our highly anticipated event, the launching number of new packs of Mobil lubricants under the Product Excellence Project (PEP) of ExxonMobil. MJL Bangladesh Limited is one of the very few companies in the world that successfully launched the PEP campaign within shortest possible time. We are certain that in the coming years this endeavor will enforce better customer satisfaction complementing our growth target.
In this edition, we highlighted the regular activities of our Sales & Marketing team and also focused few business and personal achievements. Launching of two new television commercials and a smart website are highlighted in this edition as well. We hope these additions would boost our presence in this competitive market and give a better result in 2017.
The Management of MJLBL and it’s subsidiaries are excited about the upcoming ventures. Our Managing Director, Mr. Azam J. Chowdhury received a token of honor “the Best Private Company in Energy Sector of Bangladesh” from the Hon’ble Prime Minister of Bangladesh as a result of his relentless effort and continuous engagement in Energy Sector of Bangladesh boosting the country’s economy.

Unveiling of the New Packs of Mobil Lubricants in Bangladesh

Exxon Mobil Corporation has upgraded the packaging of some of its key products. MJL Bangladesh Limited (MJLBL), the strategic alliance partner of ExxonMobil in Bangladesh, organized a grand unveiling event at Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden on December 06, 2017.
The event was graced by senior officials of ExxonMobil, Government officials, senior management of MJLBL, wholesalers of MJLBL, and members of print and electronic media. Mr. Teoh Song Ping - Director Asia Pacific Lubricants Sales, Mr. Yasser Al-Azzawi - Asia Pacific FDS Cluster Manager, Ms. Joanne Eu - Asia Pacific Lubricants Marketing Manager and Mr. Salim Kutti - Distributor Business Consultant represented the ExxonMobil team. Mr. Azam J. Chowdhury - Managing Director, Mr. M. Mukul Hossain - CEO, Mr. Tanjil Chowdhury - Director of MJLBL were present at the event.
This massive event was thoroughly enjoyed by guests, officials and audience present at the event. ExxonMobil thanked the management of MJL Bangladesh Limited for organizing such a grand launch event for the Bangladesh market.
Omera Petroleum Limited (OPL), subsidiary of MJL Bangladesh Limited has been awarded “the Best Private Company in Energy Sector of Bangladesh” in recognition of its immense contribution to the National’s Energy Diversity. The Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, Bangladesh nominated OPL for the honor.

Road Shows, Customer Clinics and Technical Seminars are arranged for the channel partners of MJL Bangladesh Limited in a closed environment. MJLBL’s representatives share comprehensive presentations to promote the various aspects of our products to the audiences and then attend the question answer sessions with them. Mobil SHC Seminar
MJL Bangladesh Limited organized a seminar on Mobil SHC Lubricants focusing the industries located in the port city Chittagong. The seminar took place at Radisson Blu Chittagong Bay View on October 04, 2016. Sr. Engineers and technical managers from various industries participated the event. Mr. M. Mukul Hossain, CEO of MJL Bangladesh Limited discussed numerous points on the topic in his presentation while addressing the participants.

MJLBL is one of the very few companies around the world who have arranged the PEP (Packaging Excellence Project) launch event in line with the global pack changes of ExxonMobil products. As mentioned in the cover story, the unveiling event of the new packs through a gala launching program at Radisson Blu Water Garden Dhaka on December 06, 2016 was graced by ExxonMobil officials. As part of that PEP, the Sales & Marketing team of MJLBL has organized regional launch events for the channel partners throughout the country where company officials have unveiled the new products in front of the audiences and communicated the new features of the packs.
Additionally, a new product – ‘Mobil Delvac Super 1400’ was launched during this PEP campaign. The product has the distinguished features of 2 grades higher API than the most selling products of SAE 20W-50 grades in the market. The launch of this new product came with an attractive consumer/end-user offer which was communicated through trade marketing campaigns. This campaign includes bus/truck terminal activation and end-user promotional offer through scratch card. MJLBL has received very good response from the end-users and also from the channel partners during this campaign throughout the country.

18th Annuanl General Meeting of MJLBLThe 18th Annual General Meeting of MJL Bangladesh Limited took place at the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh, Dhaka on December 01, 2016. A large number of shareholders attended the meeting along with the high officials of the company. The meeting was presided over by the Chairman of the company Mr. Nazimuddin Chowdhury. Mr. Azam J. Chowdhury - Managing Director along with the Board of Directors, CEO, CFO and Company Secretary were present at the meeting.
The Brand Department of MJLBL is supporting the biggest Marketing Campaign for the launch of the new packs of Mobil lubricants in Bangladesh. As part of the campaign, the team has launched one Television Commercial (TVC) directed by the most renowned TVC director of the country – Amitabh Reza Chowdhury, who has more than 500 TVCs under this belt. The cinematography has been done by Tapan Basu who has well established himself in the Bollywood (India) film industry.
The TVC stiches interesting slices of everyday lives of people running after their dreams while putting their trust on Mobil Engine oil. The story connects people’s emotion and functionality of the products at the same time. The TVC was captured in Bangladesh and the post production was done in Mumbai, India.
Another TVC has been launched which is directed by one of the famous young directors, Ashfaquzzaman Bipul. The TVC created a new benchmark for the lubricant industry in Bangladesh as it was made using amazing matte painting VFX technique mostly used in Hollywood movies. The team transformed a road of Dhaka city into a beautiful scenic street between mountains and lakes on the post production. The story of the TVC revolved around the heritage of Mobil and how Mobil is playing important role with the progress of the world for last the 150 years by ensuring a smooth journey.

A smart and dynamic website has been launched for Mobil Lubricants in Bangladesh.
The revamped website combines a new look and modern smart features. The objective of this website is to connect the customers with MJLBL, the Mobil products and to bring ease to customer’s purchase decision.
Some of the exciting features of the website are- Oil Recommendations, Online Store Locator, Product details etc. Another useful add-on of the website is the live share market update which will give the shareholders a good look at the company’s progress & current market trends.

Mr. M Mukul Hossain, Chief Executive Officer, MJLBL handed over the cheque to Professor M Q-K Talukder, Chairman, Center for Woman and Child Health for the development of the organization.
In the month of August 2016 MJL Bangladesh Limited distributed relief to more than 1,000 flood victims in Kurigram, Lalmonirhat and Bogra.

YES, WE DID IT! We, BDCyclists (BDC) are now the record holder of Guinness World Records on the longest single line of moving bicycles. As an active member of the team I am extremely excited of our achievement. Total number of participants was 1,186 cyclists, and the event was held at 300 Feet Road (Purbachal Highway, Dhaka) on our Victory day-16th December 2016. The previous record was held by the Cyclist Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. They broke the record in 2015 (initially created by USA in 2010), by riding 984 bicycles in an event organized during the Sarajevo Grand Prix in Sarajevo. I’m feeling proud to be a part of this historical and prestigious event.
