JCS military tactical cable assemblies employ ruggedized fibreoptic expanded beam and hybrid connectors for deployment in demanding field applications such as tactical communications and ship to shore.

Expanded-beam connectors, originally developed for harsh environment military applications, offer enhanced immunity to end face contamination and are very easy to maintain.

A fully sealed hermaphroditic connector design enables deployment flexibility through “genderless” mating. Cable assemblies can be deployed, and concatenated as needed, without regard to connector gender.

FEATURES • Compact rugged field deployable

design

• Multifibre interface

• Singlemode, multimode or mixed

• Hybrid electrical / fibreoptic variants

• Hermaphroditic

• Field repairable

Expanded beam connectors are field repairable, the design enabling simple replacement of the expanded beam insert, connector front body and grip ring without the need to re-terminate the fibres.

The “Junior” range offers 2 or 4 channel singlemode or multimode connections.

JUNIOR 2 / 4 CHANNEL EXPANDED BEAM CONNECTORS

The “Senior” range supports fibre optic / electrical hybrid variants for remote power delivery in addition to optical communications.

PIERSIDE CONNECTORSJCS military tactical cable assemblies employ ruggedized fibreoptic PC connectors for deployment in demanding high performance multifibre field applications.

Pierside 6- to 12-channel hermaphroditic fiber optic connectors are a durable, high-quality system designed to meet the scope of NAVSEA 7379171 and 7379172 specifications for ship-to-shore communications umbilicals.

The Pierside style of connector is designed to enable “genderless” mating, without regard for male or female mating connector gender. This characteristic allows cable assemblies to be flexibly deployed without concern for gender when used in a “daisy-chained “configuration, eliminating deployment or field system reconfiguration logistics headaches.

Pierside connectors use MIL-PRF-29504/14 pins and MIL-PRF-29504/15 sockets with a unique captive alignment sleeve in an interchangeable detachable socket Insert (DSI), enabling interoperability with other brands.

The comprehensive connector options range includes replacement dust caps, strain-relief receptacles and 90° plugs. Plugs and receptacles are fitted with tethered dust caps.

Available in single-mode, multimode or mixed configurations, the design is compliant to the US Navy Commercial Item Description (CID).
