INTRODUCTION

Mobile Metal Ions (MMI-M) Process soil geochemical surveys were undertaken from 5 sampling transects on the Equator property. These transects were undertaken, in part, to assess the ability of the MMI process to identify anomalous metal concentrations in overburden overlying a structurally-contrOlled precious metal mineralization. Samples were collected along a transect from various depths in 10 cm increments to determine the optimum depth of sampling. In addition, this approach was assessed as an exploration tool to identify locations where anomalous precious metal concentrations in soils are present in areas of no known mineralization thereby locating areas for detailed exploration follow-up. Overburden in the area is characterized by well-drained fine sand-silt with heterolithologic pebbles, gravels and occasionally cobbles. The soil profile is generally covered by a blanket ()f organic material including sphagnum and other mosses. The overall depth of the overburden is unknown. The

• sampling was conducted over a 5-day period in September of 2007.

LOCATION, VEGETATION AND CLIMATE OF THE PROPERTY (Figure 1)

The Equator Squaw Lake/Quest Lake property comprises 8 claims that occur in the Patricia Mining Division of northwestern Ontario. The claims occur approximately 320 km northwest of the city of Thunder Bay, west of Vista Lake, southeast of Sturgeon Lake and cover Empress Lake and approximately 25% of King Lake which occurs south of Empress Lake. The community of Savant Lake, located on Highway 599 and situated on the northern railway line of the Canadian National Railway is 22 km by air north of Sturgeon Lake. The larger town of Ignace, situated on Highway 17, the major highway that transects Ontario from Ottawa in the east to Kenora in the west, is 110 km south of Sturgeon Lake.

Vegetation in the area is dominated by boreal forests of pine, cedar, spruce and fir interspersed with smaller vascular plants, mosses and low-lying shrubs. Bog/muskeg is common. The climate is characterized by extremes of temperature ranging between +:~O degrees Celsius in the summer to -30 degrees Celsius in the winter. Snow cover in the winter months can exceed 1 m .

----------------------~------.----~~----~--~.-PREVIOUS EXPLORATION WORK

Exploration for gold within the Sturgeon Lake Metavolcanic Belt in the Sturgeon Lake area of northwestern Ontario has occurred since the late 1800s. Gold was first discovered in the area in 1898 along the south shore of King Bay, approximately one kilometre north of Rainbow Island. The St. Anthony gold mine was also reportedly discovered at around the same time and eventually became the large gold producer in the area. During the same period, United States Gold Mining Company explored and developed several gold veins in the Shore Bay and King Bay areas. A total of three shafts and one adit were excavated on a gold showing on Snoopy's point, 1,200 metres northwest of Rainbow Island.

Base metal exploration activity in the region rally began in earnest in 1969. It was not until 1970 however, when Mattagami Lake Mines and Falconbridge Nickel identified several copper-zinc massive sulphide deposits at the south end of Sturgeon Lake, did the entire Sturgeon Lake Metavolcanic Belt start to receive serious exploration attention for its potential to host VMS type deposits. Amax, Conwest Exploration, Western Quebec Mines and Selco all completed copperzinc exploration programs around the King Bay and East Bay areas. Several shallow drill holes tested a number of previously identified airborne EM conductors. Results, while not necessarily encouraging, were deemed to be inconclusive. At the time, the gold potential of the region was not even considered.

Between 1972 and 1973, the Ontario Geological Survey mapped the Sturgeon Lake area, locating some old workings on the north shore of East Bay, identifying some gold bearing, white quartz veins contained within a sulphide iron formation. In 1973, several drill holes (N-1 to N-4) were drilled near the southeast shore of Snoopy's Point and some blue-grey quartz veins were intersected in this drilling. Assay results were not reported.

An option was taken out on the Armstrong Property by Steep Rock Resources ("Steep Rock") in 1983. In conjunction with Hudson Bay Exploration, Steep Rock conducted an extensive exploration program from 1983 to 1986 on the Armstrong Property and two adjacent properties in the northwest corner of King Bay and on Horn Point. The work completed by these two groups was instrumental in gaining an understanding of the structural nature of gold mineralization in the King Bay-Horn Point area. Steep Rock identified a number of Selco's previous drill sites and core located 200 and 400 metres southeast and southwest of Copper Lake. Blue-grey quartz veins were found in the core trays unsampled. The exploration program conducted by Steep Rock was unsuccessful in locating five new gold bearing structures. One hole drilled on the Armstrong Zone by Steep Rock in 1983 returned 1.3€l ounces of gold per ton along a core length of 29.7 feet. A small deposit was outlined by the drilling containing 20,000 tons of ore grading 1.0 ounces of gold per ton. Additionally, the resident geologist from Sioux Lookout collected a 15 kilogram sample from the Rainbow Island vein in 1983, which returned an assay of 10.96 ounces of gold per ton. Moran Resources completed some surface exploration in 1984, drilling one hole to test the gold potential of a gold bearing quartz vein system on the southeast shore of McEdwards Lake.

MOBILE METAL IONS SURVEY METHODOLOGY

Mobile Metal Ions Technology

The exploitation of mineral commodities in the near-surface geological environment has become increasingly difficult due to the exhaustion of mineralization exposed at surface and the mantling of prospective bedrock by glacially transported till and its derivatives. Thick glaciofluvial and glaciolacustrine sediments topped by organic deposits make mineral exploration in these terrains challenging. For this reason a plethora of innovative exploration geochemical selective and partial digestions, coupled with state-of-the-art instrumentation capable of measuring concentrations in the parts per billion (ppb) and sub-parts per billion range, have been developed. These techniques offer the explorationist tools to "see through" overburden and derive useful mineral exploration data for integration with geology and geophysics and ultimately for drill-testing mUltivariate anomalies. Disrupted overburden, such as that observed with logging practices (scarification), tends to complicate MMI responses although modified sampling practices can be adopted to rectify this disturbed environment. Areas affected by landslide are also complicating factors.

The proprietary Mobile Metal Ions Process (MMI) soil geochemical technique has been utilized on a wide range of commodity types from base and precious metals to diamonds worldwide. The Technology has also been utilized to map bedrock lithologies in overburden covered terrain. The Process is based upon proprietary partial extraction techniques, specific combinations of ligands to keep metals in solution, and relies on strict adherence to sampling protocols usually established during an orientation program. Geochemical data resulting from MMI analysis of improperly collected soils cannot be ameliorated with univariate and/or mUltivariate statistical and graphical solutions.

The recognition of anomalies in geochemical data has progressed from simple visual inspection in small data sets to multivariate, parametric and non-parametric or robust statistical methods for large datasets usually extracted from regional geochemical surveys. Derived parameters from these statistical exercises, such as factor scores or discriminant functions, have been successfully utilized in reducing a large number of potentially IJseful variables to a select few variables that identify and localize anomalous geochemical signatures. These statistical approaches have been required to manipulate accurate and precise, low-cost, multi-element geochemical data.

The MMI technology uses a different approach to exploration geochemistry by analyzing soils for a select few commodity elements upon which to base property evaluations. Having stated this, the MMI-M multi-element suite that was utilized to analyze inorganic soils from the Equator property survey comprises analyses for 45 elements. These consist of a multi-element suite that reports ppb and sub-ppb analyses for base and precious metals, pathfinder elements for these commodities, as well as elements useful for mapping bedrock geology obscured by glacial overburden and its derivatives. A small number of elements in this package report in the ppm concentration range (AI, Ca, Mg, Fe). The large number of elements in the database provides an opportunity to assess an area of interest for a wide range of metallic mineral deposits with only minor drawbacks in terms of lower limits of determination. The specific details of this assessment are described below.

Soil samples were collected from a consistent depth of between 10 and ~~5 cm below the zero datum or where soil formation is initiated in this landscape environment. Samples were collected from a total of 5 transects at sample spacing of approximately 25 m with three of these transects

located at the southern end of Empress Lake and the remaining samples from two transects at the north end of Empress Lake. The transects are east-southeast-trending and were oriented in this direction to crosscut the bedrock fabric that trends north-northeast in this area. The location of the samples in relation to the claim boundaries and Empress Lake is given below in Figlure 3.

Data Description

Data Reproducibility-Analytical Duplicates

Analytical duplicate sample analyses are presented in Appendix 2 and permit an asskssment of the ability to reproduce analyses at a wide range in concentration. It is observed that ~he duplicate pairs exhibit a very high degree of reproducibility across a wide range in concentration

Equator Mining Corp. MMI Surveys-Empress Lake Page 10

Mount Morgan Resources Ltd.: "Accurate and Precise Geochemistry in Hydrocarbon and Mineral Exploration"

--------------------------------~--------.~--------------------------for most MMI-M elements including the base and precious metal commodity elements. The designation of a duplicate sample as "IS" indicates insufficient sample was available for analysis and this indicates the need for the collection of a larger sample. Any variability that exists between duplicates is general.ly within +/- 25% and as such is interpreted not to be a hindrance to interpretation and the recognition of bona fide trends and anomalies in the dataset. Most variability occurs at or near the lower limit of determination .. Some analytical duplicate pairs exhibit significant variance at lower concentration levels near the analytical limits of determination. It is noted that this variability is not uniform for all duplicate pairs and for most pairs the reproducibility for these elements is excellent.

Standard Reference Materials

A review of the QC analytical data in Appendix 2 indicates there is excellent agreement of the replicate analyses for the standard reference material MMISRM18 and MMISRM16 with the accepted or recommended values. This is particularly true for the commodity elements. The Significance of a review of quality control data with a very small number of replicate analyses is questionable however preliminary assessment indicates that the data is generally accurate and that no anomalous responses would be missed in the database.

Analytical Blank Replicates

A review of the replicate analyses of the analytical blanks (Appendix 2) indicates minimal contamination in the blanks. The contamination indicated by the replicate analyses of the blanks is summarized in Table form below and demonstrates the lack of significant laboratory-based contamination in the sample.

Data Description

The Equator MMI-M dataset is marked by only a small number of elements that are at or below the LLD. These include As, Au, Bi, Li, Mo, Pt, Pd, Sb, Ta, Te and W. These elements are typically less mobile than Cu or Zn and their presence in measurable quantities in a small number of samples is testament to this. The high percentage of samples with <LLD for these metals is not surprising given their very low mobility in the surficial/secondary environment. However, any MMI-M analysis for Pd or Pt that is >LLD should be reviewed with care for its overall significance in the survey. An MMI analysis for Pd and Pt above the LLD should be field checked for possible association with platinum group metal geological environments. It is worth noting that the diagnostic signal of a significantly mineralized zone will generally produce moderate- to high-contrast apical responses over the target; however, away from the mineralization at "background" locations there may be no trace of the presence of a specific metal in the analysis. This is another consideration when viewing MMI data-the presence of significant numbers of elements < the LLD is not necessarily cause for concern or that the MMI extraction is not working or has been "buffered" by soil composition. The MMI process is designed to only extract metals that are moving from source to surface and characteristically report metal contents in low ppb concentrations.

Geochemical Flux in the Survey Area

Analytical data is reported for only two of 5 sampling transects in this report. These two transects are located at the southern end of Empress Lake and comprise vertical profiling data along each of the two lines. The transects with analyzed samples are STN 3 and 4. Transect STN 3 is a 700 m long sampling line and STN 4 is 1 km long and these are illustrated with sample labels in Figure 5.

When commodity and lithologically-sensitive element responses are examined from both Transect 3 and 4 it becomes apparent that the optimum depth of sample collection in the Empress Lake landscape environment is between 10 and 20 cm below the point at which soil formation is initiated. At this depth the maximum responses for the commodity elements is obtained and is therefore the most representative site for sample collection. This is illustrated in the table below.

An example of vertical differentiation of metals in vertical profiling data from STN 4. The bolded and underlined sample depth is the preferred sample location (10-20 cm).

The variation in concentration of commodity elements along the transects there appears to be sites on each transect that are characterized by elevated base and precious metal (Ag) responses. The low concentrations of Au along both transects indicates the relative absence of

Au mineralization in the areas crosscut by these sampling iines. The base metal and Ag responses appear to have unique element responses at certain positions on the transect but also elevated responses in areas that appear to extend from STN3 to STN 4. These responses are tabulated in Table form below.

Although there are base metal and some Ag responses that are present on these transects it is difficult to tie them together from STN 3 to STN 4. The orientation of any host structures marked by these signatures is currently unknown.

This MMI-M orientation survey has been based upon the analysiS of 179 soil samples collected from depths ranging from 0-10 cm, 10-20 cm and 20-30 cm. Samples were collected from two transects trending east-southeast near the southeast shore of Empress Lake. Although only preliminary in nature, the observations that can be made with some confidence are that elevated concentrations of most MMI-M suite elements occurs between 10 and 20 cm below the "zero datum" or the point at which soil formation is initiated in the Empress lake landscape environment. This agrees with previously undertaken MMI-M vertical profiling studies in glaCiated terrain. There are some significant responses in the 0-10 cm samples although incomplete profile sampling at these sites makes the significance of this observation uncertain.

The delineation of elevated base and precious metal concentrations at specific locations along both STN 3 and STN 4 including apparently coincident responses between these two transects is encouraging from the point of view of follow-up surveys and delineating areas for further exploration. The association of base metals with elevated Au mineralization in brittle and ductile structures is well documented in the Sturgeon Lake area. The absence of significant Au

This orientation survey covers a small area of the property and the presence of elevated Ag and base metal responses indicates the presence of potential mineralized zones beneath the overburden.

CONCLUSIONS and RECOMMENDATIONS

The conclusions that flow from this MMI-M orientation survey at Equator Mining's Squaw

responses in any of the samples collected along these two sampling transects should not be taken to indicate there is no potential for Au mineralization in the area. This orientation survey covers a small area of the property and the presence of elevated Ag and base metal responses indicates the presence of potential mineralized zones beneath the overburden.

CONCLUSIONS and RECOMMENDATIONS

The conclusions that flow from this MMI-M orientation survey at Equator Mining's Squaw Lake/Quest Lake property are as follows:

1. The preferred depth of sample location at the Squaw Lake/Quest Lake property is between 10 and 20 cm.

2. Base metal and Ag responses are present on both transects and some of these are coincident on the same line and between lines. If these responses extend between the sampling lines then it is suggestive of a persistent anomalous response related to bedrock-hosted mineralization in the subsurface.

3. The database is precise and accurate and not a hindrance to anomaly recognition. 4. The materials sampled are appropriate for the purposes of this orientation survey.

The recommendations that flow from this MMI-M orientation survey at Equator Mining's Squaw Lake/Quest Lake property are as follows:

1. The area of the elevated responses should be assessed with follow-up MMI-M surveys in the vicinity of the elevated responses observed in the results of this study.

2. Alternatively, an excavator could be utilized to scrape away the overburden permitting observations to be made of the bedrock.

3. The area of the Squaw Lake/Quest Lake property could be assessed with MMI Technology by opening up the sample spacing and covering the entire property. In this way "hot-spots" can be elucidated and these areas can then be assessed with an MMI survey based on tighter sample spacings.
