For EHR systems, content can conform to any XML-based standards, such as HL7 CDA. Traditional outputs are also available to comply with the standards of any practice, hospital, network, or agency. 8 EHR system Tagged content in the Meaningful Clinical Document unlocks valuable data that are otherwise “lost” in conven- tional transcribed reports or scanned documents. 9 Data linked M*Modal links related data in the EHR system, like test results or data from specialists, to the physician’s clinical notes. Example: “Allergies as previously reported.” 5 Continuous learning Any revisions made by the transcriptionist or physician are returned to M*Modal so that the system can learn and perform better the next time. 4 Medical language specialist An experienced transcriptionist edits the transformed text by listening to the recording and viewing the validation display. Using extensive knowledge of medical terminology, the transcriptionist validates the accuracy of the text and the tag and makes corrections as needed.
