Alice Ballard
Welcome Welcome to the 2017 Mississippi Music Teachers Association Collegiate Competitions! I hope you enjoy your visit to Jackson today.
As you know, participation in competitions plays an important part in the life of a developing musician. I hope your experience today will inspire and inform you in many ways.
The Millsaps faculty, staff, and students graciously hosted this competition and allowed MMTA to use their facilities. A special note of appreciation is in order for Rachel Heard, our Millsaps liaison. Also, Phyllis Lewis-Hale, VP for Collegiate and National Competitions, coordinated this competition and is to be congratulated for her work. In addition, Stephanie Holmes, VP for Public Relations, created this program booklet. Many dedicated people worked together to make this event possible. Thanks to one and all!
Please make plans now to participate in the MMTA state competitions next year. For more information about MTNA and MMTA College Competitions, visit http://www.msmusicteachers.org/competitions-info.php
