Modern Originals lives Quiksilver’s rich 40 year history of beach & mountain culture. Born from the heart of our archives &

instinctively modernized by our greatest athletes,

Modern Original’s truly have a story to tell. And we sculpt this story with the memories shared around a

beer & a campfire, with the photos of all who have said and done before us, and with the ambition of a grom taking his f irst big run.

We live the passion of the outdoors and can tell this story proudly and sincerely. We are a generation of adventures,

with no end in site.

Modern Original’s passion for technical innovation, combined with quality fabrics, signature details, & iconic prints make

this product deserving of the mountain and wave label.

We hang our hat on what we do best: Board shorts and Jackets.Surrounding those iconic pieces with core product that

remains relevant wear after wear, year after year.

Modern, functional and timeless. The result is an original product that will be

INTERNAL LABELS

The Quiksilver logo, a cresting wave and snowcapped mountain, rep-resents active sports and global excellence.

The brand heritage comes from the beach and the sport of surf ing and extends out to include other lifestyles where the dictates for

fashion and function come from active people with high standards.

Since its birth over 20 years ago, Quiksilver has maintained its com-mitment to performance, style, and endurance.

Modern Originals proudly upholds this heritage by using the original logo: never rework, redesigned

or rethought.

The symbol of mountain and wave has become the global iconfor all that seek adventure in the water to the mountainside.

Modern Originals respects the planet we live & play on by only using recycled and substainable materials in all labels, packaging and shipping materials we put on

or around our product.

Only adding extra when needed, we cut down on waste and chemical use.

Seasonal Highlights

Page 11: Mo final

Modern Original’s palette draws from a rich inf luence of the outdoors.A tree, a mountain, the ocean; all colours make sense

in the surroundings we f ind our inspiration.

The palette focuses on two groupings: Perennials Colours and seasonal Highlights.

The perennials are tried & true mens colours: olive, navy, black, khaki, burgundy, tones of white.

These never change. Season after season they will be in the line, building consistency and a base level for the collection.

Seasonally the palette will adopt levels of colour that give freshness.

These seasonal highlights are rich sometime saturated, other times watery, but wearable hues that change

at the right times during the yearly cycle.

PAT TERN:Modern Original’s pays homage to the beginnings of the Quiksilver

brand by reissuing the prints that started it all.

In the early 1970’s Quik introduced the solid board short wtih 2 snaps and velcro closure, shaped waistband and a scalloped leg in solids.

In 1978 the Country line was brought to market as a cohesive line. This line told the story of a perfect wave. The hybiscus f lorals of Hawaii was signa-

ture to this f irst line of pattern.

In the 1980’s, the brand introduced Echo Beach. Inspired by music and the lifestyle that Quik was creating, this range of patterns embrassed the trend of geometrics

and showed that surf had a wilder side.

In the 1980’s, Quik continued into War Paint. This was a time of attitude & experimentation. Modern graphitti patterns and an

anarchist approach became the signature. for this line.

When Simon and Peter started treating the canvas of a board short like the canvas of a painting, the patternwork turned to artwork

and brought on a whole new message to the surf lifestyle.

When creating these def inative pattern ranges across the decades they probably never thought that someday this would be redemed

to help paint a foundation for a new breathe of the Quiksilver family of brands.

Page 13: Mo final

Country Echo Beach War Paint

Each season, the range starts here. Pullling from archive patterns f irst, then layering on versions of new pattern created from combining, mixing and matching the elements of these

original pattern stories.

Modern, Original. . .get it?
