Business ScenarioThe client had a unique idea to help sports enthusiasts who wished to take up a new sport or activity and sought for a partner to play with. A compatible matchmaking mobile app that matches and connects sports enthusiasts of all interests and provides a platform to connect users with their colleagues who visited the same Gym, Club or Bootcamp as they do.
To shape the idea into a reality, a developer (in-house) was hired as a full-time employee. But over a period of time, the development went haywire due to the lack of domain understanding, the application got stuck in a vicious circle of bugs and errors.

Cygnet’s SolutionCygnet delivered a Social Networking Application for sports enthusiasts who are looking for a partner nearby or to connect to people who visit the same Sports Club, Bootcamp or Gym as they do.
For a faster go-to-market strategy and to cover for the loss of time, the client desired to modify the existing code of the software instead of developing the application from scratch. A business analyst understood the loopholes of the existing software and analyzed the requirements to be fulfilled.
After thorough analysis, the task of learning the current architecture and modifying the existing code was delegated to two application developers. In a short time span, a hybrid mobile application for Android and iOS platforms was delivered to the client. Following are the features and functionalities of the Application that delivered a captivating user experience:
Effortless Registration: The user can register with the application with easy signup and login using a mail signup or by using the “Signup with Facebook” option.
Profile Setup: In this section, the user needs to update their information about the clubs, gyms and bootcamps they are associated with and also select the sports abilities they possess. Users were also provided a list of pre-loaded gym, clubs and bootcamp for a smooth onboarding into the application.
Filter Options: Upon profile completion, a user can search for a perfect match using various filters like Gender, Gym, Sports Club/Bootcamp/ Fitness Class and Sport. Advanced filters were also provided wherein the users could select the locality/area range in between of 0, 15 and 30 miles to determine the distance of their sports partner from their current location.
Compatible Matchmaking: Based on the filters selected, the profiles match the requirements are displayed. Grid view of the profiles were provided with name, similarity and distance from the user. Once user taps on any profile, the detailed information was provided. After being certain about the relevancy of the profile, the user can hit the match button to send a request to connect.
Chat and Call Support: Users can get along with their matched sports buddy by a chat or call option. They can exchange text messages, emoticons, media files and GIFs during the chat.
Simplified Admin Sign-up for Gym, Clubs and Bootcamps: A separate backend channel was developed for gyms, clubs and other such organizations to create their own profile and connect with users. Organization can directly communicate with the users without having to match requirements and can market their prices and other valuable information about their services. They can search for relevant users from the user database by filtering users using the range and sports filter. Admins were charged for this service and the payment for the service was facilitated from within the application using PayPal.
