When the kit is not in use, every piece of equipment fits nicely in weather-resistant, shock-proof carrying cases.

NOT IN THE BOXES

Satellite Phone Limited windows of service and too many restrictions due to

the satellite orbits. Police Radio (or Scanner)

Most of your average users wouldn’t understand the majority of the radio traffic.

Generator If there is no power at the site, it doesn’t make sense to use

that site as an EOC. Storage and fuel also are an issue. MacBooks Are Optional

We chose to include MacBooks as an alternative Operating System in the event of a malicious software attack.

CONNECTIVITY

We use a Linksys Wireless router/firewall and a Linksys Switch to provide connectivity.

All Laptops MacBooks and Printer are set to pick up a 192.X.X.X IP from our Linksys router.

The Local printer is configured with a static address so all laptops can see it.

WiPort CradlePoint wireless access point and a Sprint Novatel Wireless card provide 802.11 wireless connections to all laptops.

CONNECTIVITY

Sprint Air Cards can be used on either of the laptops to allow free movement.

A Sprint Air Card connected to the laptop labeled “Internet Connection Sharing” will allow all the other PC laptops to share its Internet connection using Microsoft’s “ICS”.

We have a Sprint Cell phone signal boaster to allow all the phones in a given area additional signal
