1 Introduction

The Mobisys Gateway serves to forward data of any kind from different source types to var-

ious destination types. It supports both different logs (HTTP, TCP/IP, 3964R) anddifferent interfaces (COM, Ethernet).

2 Description of Interface

2.1 Overview

In the overview, you see connections that have already been created and their status(whether they are activated or deactivated).

A connection can be selected either by mouse-click or by using the arrow keys.

New …: Create new connection (key combination: [ALT] + [N] )Edit …: Edit selected connection (key combination: [F2] or [ALT] + [E] )Delete: Delete selected connection (key combination: [DEL] or [ALT] + [D] )Activate: Activate or deactivate selected connection (key combination: [space] or

[ALT] + [A] )Start service: Starts the Mobisys Gateway serviceStop service: Stops the Mobisys Gateway serviceEvent log…: The Windows event display is opened

2.1.1 Notes

If connections have been created or processed, these are not used by Mobisys Gatewayuntil after the service has been restarted. To do this, click the Start servicebutton. If the service is already running, you must first click the Stop service button.

2.2 Create New Connection

To create a new connection, click New … (or use the key combination: [ALT] + [N] ).You can select any name for the new connection, which is shown in the overview. After this, the receiver, manipulator, and sender must be selected and configured. These are described in the following.

2.2.1 Receiver

When you select a receiver (or click on config…), the relevantconfiguration window opens.

2.2.1.1 TCP/IP receiver

Port: The data is received at this port

Timeout: Specification of duration in milliseconds in which attempts are made to read furtherdata following the arrival of the first data.Close connection after send failure: If you activate this, the connection is closed in theevent that it is not possible to reach the destination.STX: Start characters as hex input as of which the data transmitted is collected.ETX: End characters as hex input as of which no further data is collected.

Note: The character codes STX and ETX are passed on together with transaction data to thesender that has been set.If STX and ETX are to be filtered, this must be configured in the manipulator.

White list: If the list does not contain any entries, data is accepted from each device thatconnects up. If data is to be accepted from certain devices only, you can enter the IP of eachrelevant device here. All other connection attempts are then rejected.

Port: The data is received at this portSSL: Here you specify whether an encryption log is to be used for the secure sockets layer(SSL) to ensure the secure transfer of data. By setting thisindicator, you activate SSL encryption.White list: If the list does not contain any entries, data is accepted from each device thatconnects up. If data is to be accepted from certain devices only, you can enter the IP of eachrelevant device here. All other connection attempts are then rejected.

COM port: Select the name of the COM port that is to be usedBaud rate: Set the correct Baud rate (bits per second)Parity: Select the parityStopBits: Select the number of stop bitsDataBits: Select the number of data bitsChecksum: If you activate this, the check sum is sent and checked.

(with check sum = 3964, without check sum = 3964R)

The settings you select must be suitablefor the hardware. Please refer to the doc-umentation for the hardware in this re-spect.

2.2.2 Manipulator

When you select a manipulator (or click config…) the appropriate

configuration window opens.

Via Add to Request and Remove from Request, you can add start and end charactercodes to a request received by the receiver - or remove them from the request - before thelatter is forwarded to the sender. The same applies to the response. The start and end code can be added to or removed fromthis using Add to Response and Remove from Response .

STX: Hex input that is to be added to or removed from the request or response.ETX: Hex input that is to be added to or removed from the request or response.

2.2.3 Sender

When you select a sender (or click on config…), the relevant

configuration window opens.

2.2.3.1 TCP/IP sen der

IP: The data is sent to this IP.Port: The IP is to be available at this port as server.Connect timeout: Specification of duration in milliseconds in which attempts are made to

reach the IP.Receive timeout: Specification of a duration in milliseconds in which a response is awaitedfrom the IP.STX: Start characters as hex input as of which the data transmitted is collected.ETX: End characters as hex input as of which no further data is collected.

IP: The data is sent to this IP.Port: The IP is to be available at this port as server.Service: If an SAP system is defined under IP:Port, here you can enter a service. This must be set up in the SAP system.Timeout: Specification of duration in milliseconds in which attempts are made to reach theIP.SSL: Here you specify whether an encryption log is to be used for the secure sockets layer(SSL) to ensure the secure transfer of data. By setting thisindicator, you activate SSL encryption.

If NAK is sent, an attempt is made to resend the request.

(See Retries) Retries: Number of attempts if NAK was read as response.Raw response: If checked, the data is returned as delivered by the hardware. Otherwise, ACK, NAK, ETB, SI, SO, and EOT are returned as text.

2.2.4 Logging (receiver + sender)

You can activate a logging function for each receiver and sender. In the process, eachdata record that is sent and received is individually logged in a file. The file name has the following structure:R_127_0_0_1_5000_20090212103243839

R or S = Receiver or sender127_0_0_1 = IP5000/6000 = Port20090212 = Year, month, day103243839 = Hours (XX), minutes (XX), seconds (XX), milliseconds (XXX)

Log received data: Activate loggingLifetime: Duration in hours in which the files remain stored. Older files are automatically de-leted.Select location…: Select destination directory

After the selection and configuration of the receiver, manipulator, and sender, the newconnection can be stored by clicking Save and then appears in the overview:
