Four pole MCCB in accordance with AS3010. The motorised MCCB is fitted with a stunt trip to protect the generator in event of a sudden shutdown.

Because the QSK23 has been developed by Cummins you can counton top performance and operating efficiency. Providing powerbetween 390 kWe and 814 kWe, it is designed to meet present and

future competitive pressures and worldwide emissions regulations whilstdelivering low fuel economy and high power density.

Several advanced engine technologies are used to meet legislative andcustomer requirements regarding emissions. These include: a high pressureinjection (HPI-PT) full-authority electronic fuel system, cast iron pistons,and low temperature air-to-air aftercooling.

Unusually for this high level of power output, the QSK23 comes with thebenefit of an inline, six-cylinder configuration offering a narrower, shorterinstallation and easier service access. This format also comes withinherently fewer parts, which means a higher reliability factor. Importantlyfor operators, the QSK23 is expected to achieve 20,000 hours beforeoverhaul in most applications and is then capable of several rebuilds todramatically reduce life cycle costs.

Even operating under full load the QSK23 displays a remarkable level ofrefinement for an engine of this size, with the high-pressure fuel injectionand sophisticated electronic control ensuring a seamless power delivery. Aninnovative rear gear train design results in significant packaging benefitswith a major reduction in engine noise. Fully integrated gear housings atboth the front and rear further enhance noise suppression and provideadded flexibility for accessories and servicing.

POWER WITH INTELLIGENCE

With Cummins electronic intelligence, your genset is equipped with value-adding features and faster, more precise diagnostics capability. Highlyaccurate sensors located through the engine send data to the GeneratorControl System (GCS), a high capacity electronic unit specifically designedby Cummins for genset applications. The GCS continually adjusts fuellingand timing to ensure optimum engine performance and fuel economy.

Automatic engine protection means you can rely on the engine to lookafter itself, with all critical parameters and sub-systems self-monitored. TheGCS stores trend and event data, which can be quickly downloaded usingInPower™, a CD based service tool software. Genset performance tests, fuel-efficiency and diagnostic checks can also be quickly undertaken withInPower. Running history can be accessed and adjustments easily made tofeatures such as speed ramp and governor gain.

The GCS controller is easily mounted to either the genset control panelor other off-engine location close to the genset. The engine harness ultilisesfailsafe connections for ease of installation and additional reliability.

A QUANTUM LEAP IN POWER

The QSK23-G shares the new Quantum System (QS) engine platform from Cummins with the QSX15-G, QST30-G, QSK45-G and QSK60-G.Incorporating sophisticated electronic management systems, these enginesprovide a new level of power capability for genset manufacturers all the wayfrom 234 to 2180 kWm.

Newage Stamford industrial generators meet therequirements of BS EN 60034 and the relevant sectionof other international standards such as BS5000, VDE0530, NEMA MG1-32, IEC34, CSA C22.2-100,AS1359.Other standards and certifications can be consideredon request.

VOLTAGE REGULATORS

MX321 AVR - STANDARD

This sophisticated Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR)is incorporated into the Stamford Permanent MagnetGenerator (PMG) system and is fitted as standard togenerators of this type.The PMG provides power via the AVR to the mainexciter, giving a source of constant excitation powerindependent of generator output. The main exciteroutput is then fed to the main rotor, through a full wavebridge, protected by a surge suppressor. The AVRhas in-built protection against sustained over-excitation, caused by internal or external faults. Thisde-excites the machine after a minimum of 5 seconds.Over voltage protection is built-in and short circuitcurrent level adjustments is an optional facility.

WINDINGS & ELECTRICAL PERFORMANCE

All generator stators are wound to 2/3 pitch. Thiseliminates triplen (3rd, 9th, 15th …) harmonics on thevoltage waveform and is found to be the optimumdesign for trouble-free supply of non-linear loads. The2/3 pitch design avoids excessive neutral currentssometimes seen with higher winding pitches, when inparallel with the mains. A fully connected damperwinding reduces oscillations during paralleling. Thiswinding, with the 2/3 pitch and carefully selected poleand tooth designs, ensures very low waveformdistortion.

TERMINALS & TERMINAL BOX

Standard generators feature a main stator with 6 endsbrought out to the terminals, which are mounted on theframe at the non-drive end of the generator. A sheetsteel terminal box contains the AVR and providesample space for the customers' wiring and glandarrangements. It has removable panels for easyaccess.

SHAFT & KEYS

All generator rotors are dynamically balanced to betterthan BS6861:Part 1 Grade 2.5 for minimum vibration inoperation. Two bearing generators are balanced witha half key.

INSULATION/IMPREGNATION

The insulation system is class 'H'.All wound components are impregnated with materialsand processes designed specifically to provide thehigh build required for static windings and the highmechanical strength required for rotating components.

QUALITY ASSURANCE

Generators are manufactured using productionprocedures having a quality assurance level to BS ENISO 9001.

The stated voltage regulation may not be maintained inthe presence of certain radio transmitted signals. Anychange in performance will fall within the limits ofCriteria 'B' of EN 61000-6-2:2001. At no time will thesteady-state voltage regulation exceed 2%.

Description

InteliLiteNT models are the new integrated controllers for gen-sets operating in single standby mode. Based on the field proven InteliLite architecture, the new controllers fulfill every requirement needed for AMF and MRS applications – including modem and Internet control, user configuration and complete gen-set monitoring and protection.

InteliLiteNT controllers are easy to use and feature an intuitive user interface with graphic display. The built-in event and performance log with backed-up real time clock makes troubleshooting even simpler.

The new design brings seamless integration with the latest breed of EFI diesel engines from all major manufacturers. This offers a higher level of functionality with users able to display a full range of values from the EFI engine on standard analog gauges and true RMS measurement of electric values.
