Operating Instructions

Before First Use

Beforeusingtheapplianceforthefirsttime,orfollowingperiodsofprolongedstorage,itisnecessarytocleantheappliancethoroughly.SeetheCleaningsection.Beforeswitchingon,makesurethatthevoltageofyourelectricitysupplyisthesameasthatindicatedontheratingplate.

Using your Coffee Grinder

1.Liftthehopperlidoffthehopper.Placethedesiredquantityofcoffeebeansintothehopper,upto100g.Replacethelid.

2.SlowlyturntheGrindingControlwheeltothedesiredsetting.Thisshouldbedonewhiletheapplianceisoperatingasitpreventsthebeansfromlodginginthegrinders.Thefinesettingismarkedwithnumber4ontheGrindingControlandisgraduatedtothecoarsesettingwiththenumber0.

3.Ensurethatthecollectingvesseliscorrectlylocatedonthepedestal.Pluginandswitchonthepowertotheappliance.

4.SettheQuantityControltotherequiredsetting.Ifthecontrolissetto12,itwillgrindenoughcoffeetoserve12cupsapproximately.Thisshouldbeusedasaguideonly,asitwillvarydependingupontaste,typeandroastofbeanandthegrindselected.Intermediatesettingswillgiveaproportionofthistime.

5.PresstheStart/Stopbuttontostartthegrinder.Thegrinderwillstopautomaticallyaftertherequiredtime,oralternatively,presstheStart/Stopbuttonagaintostopit.Afterusetheappliancemustbeunplugged.

6.Removethegroundcoffeebinandusethegroundsasneeded.

Cleaning

1.Switchoffandremovetheplugfromthepowersupply.Donotcleantheapplianceunderrunningwaterandneverimmerseitinwater.

2.Donotcleantheapplianceunderrunningwaterandneverimmerseitinwater

3.Toclean,wipetheappliancewithadampclothandthenwithdryone.Brushawayanycoffeethatmayhaveaccumulatedaroundthegroundcoffeeoutlet.

4.Thevessellidandcollectingvesselmaybewashedinhotsoapywaterandthenthoroughdried.

5.Thetopgroundcanberemovedbyturningthecoverclockwise.Youcanreplace,thecoverbyturninganti-clockwiseuntilfingertight.

6.Whilethetopgroundcoverisremoved,Brushthegrindheadfreeofcoffeegrainsusingtheincludedcleandrybrush,thenreplace,thecoverbyturninganti-clockwiseuntilfingertight.

Helpful Hints

•TheChefmanBurrCoffeeGrinderisfullyautomatic.Selectthecorrectgrindforthebrewprocessyouareusing:espresso,automaticdrip,orFrenchpress.Thereare17grindsettingsavailable.RotateGrindAdjustmentWheeltothelefttoselectfinegrindandtotherightforcoarsegrind.

•Selectfinegrindforespresso(rotateGrindAdjustmentWheeltotheleft),mediumgrindfordripmakersandcoarsegrindforFrenchpressorpercolator.

•Theactualgrindsizeforaparticularsettingwillvarydependingonmanyfactors,including:degreeofroast(lightvs.dark),freshness,humidity,typeofbean,oilcontent,etc.Withuse,youwilldiscoverwhichsettingbestmeetsyourtaste,brewingstyleandotherpersonalcoffee-makingpreference.

•Foroptimumfreshnessofyourcoffeebeans,doNOTstoreinthebeanhopperforextendedperiodsoftime.

•Toavoidoverheatingthemotor,donotgrindmorethan2fullwholebeanhoppersor2full12-cupcycleswithoutabreak.Allowthemotortocooltoroomtemperatureatleast2minutesbetweencycles.

•TheHopperLidandGroundCoffeeBinmustalwaysbeinplacewhenusingthisappliance.

•Useonlycoffeebeansinthisappliance.
