How nervous were you on your first photoshoot?

My first shoot was a very exciting experience for me, but nonetheless a bit nerve-wrack-ing. I had never modeled before and had never considered myself to be a “model” so I was scared I wouldn’t know what to do when the camera was on me. Throughout the shoot I found myself to feel very comfortable and realized how much I loved to model! My first shoot helped me to embrace my creative side and helped me discover my pas-sion! It also opened many doors that led me to additional modeling and acting opportuni-ties.


What type of shoot would you like to do that you haven’t got to yet?

The thing I love about modeling is that every photo is unique in it’s own way. You can recreate an old image or you can create something orginal, but either way each photo is unique because of the model. Everyone has their own look and to see a photograph of someone that tells something about them is always so fascinating to me. Some shoots I have done have shown my martial arts background, my flexibility, my tough side, and my feminine side. I would love to do something in the future that involves dramatic makeup to show my theatrical side as well. I think photos that tell a little bit about the model are the most interesting, so I would like to do a shoot that stands out in a portfolio, grabs attention, and tells them a little about who I am!

Do you have any up coming projects that you are excited about?

I am very excited to say that I have been in a few movies this past year that are post-production (Almost Mercy, the 2015 Woody Allen film, Seeds, Overachiever, Bleed For This) and am con-tinuing my acting career in a few films that are currently pre-production. I am also doing work as a Brand Ambassador in the New England and New York area. I have been fortunate enough to have upcoming modeling opportunities and continue to expand my knowledge of the indus-try by attending various acting classes and workshops. This year has had an amazing start and I am looking forward to seeing what else it has in store for me!

If they were to name an energy drink after you what would it be called?

The Energizer Bunny. I am always on the run doing something!

What do you do to keep in shape during these cold winter months?

It takes a lot of motivation! Working out in a gym atmosphere helps a lot with staying focused, but during the winter, it is harder to make it to the gym, so I also have a lot of workout equipment at home. I love going to bodybuilding.com and finding new home workouts to utilize. I have stairs in my home, so for a lot of my leg training I will use my stairs.

Walk us through your weekly workout schedule.

I set an alarm everyday in my phone with a label of which workout I am doing for the day. Having it scheduled into my phone keeps me organized and focused. It is always best to have a plan each week that you can follow so you don’t lose track each week of what you are working out and when you can find time to do it. If you make time each week and plan the rest of your day around that, you will never miss a workout. I typi-cally do not work out on Sundays and Fri-days. I like to have breaks during the week to give my body time to recuperate.

I would say my butt. I love doing squats and working out my glutes and thighs. After having my daughter I noticed my legs and glutes had a lot of muscle atrophy. So working out those muscle groups again to gain that muscle back was a challenge at first, but two year later, I can definitely say I am more in shape now than I was before I had my daughter!

I do not do a lot of cardio as far as running. I find running on a treadmill monotonous. So I like to do high interval workouts using stairs and jump rope.

WHICH OF YOUR FEATURES WOULD YOU SAY HAS BENEFITED THE MOST FROM YOU WORKING OUT?

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE WAY TO BURN CALORIES?

DO YOU STICK TO GOOD EATING HABITS TO GO ALONG WITH WORKING OUT?

I eat a lot of fresh vegetables, and fresh fruits low in sugar content. If I cook my vegetables I like to steam cook them, with minimal seasonings. The seasonings I do use on my lean meats and vegetables would be Mrs. Dash. They are low in sodium and has no MSG. I enjoy eating seafood the most, so I eat a lot of salmon, tilapia, and tuna.

What’s the best tip you could give to a photographer just starting out?

Be true to yourself. Shoot what you enjoy and always strive to excel. Don’t be afraid to use criticism to grow. Be creative and think out of the “box”.

Tell us the funniest moment you’ve had during a photo shoot.

I would have to say it happened while doing a photo shoot in the Rocky Mountains and I was do-ing a photo shoot in a river. Well the model had sandals on and the only footwear she had at the time. Needless to say, they came off her feet and started floating down the river. Here I am chasing after them, with camera in hand, trying to catch up to them. Lost one of them. Can’t win all the time.

I feel since I’m a girl from the New England area and that everyone up her is telling me they ARE GOING TO WIN- that it has to be true. So that’s my prediction and I think it will be a win by at least 15!

I cannot be for certain as to who will win but I feel like it might be a close match but that New England Patriots will be the winner, the reason I chose them is because I typically like to predict to see how on par I am when it comes to guessing accurately, I used to be able to predict a lot of things accurately and I kind of want to see if I can choose correctly based off of feeling or rather a “sense,” this feeling could be off though but it is fun to guess and see. :)

I think the Seattle Seahawks are going to win only because they are the team I dislike the least between the two and I think they will win by a field goal. I’m a die hard Steelers fan and I’m gonna be watching the Super Bowl with my #43 jersey on while I toss back a few cold ones and put away some wings cuz that’s what you do as a football lover regardless of which teams are playing on that Sunday. You support your team and root for the lesser of the two evils, so to speak. So let’s go Seahawks and Refs make sure you check everyone’s balls for deflation, lol!!

Who or what was it that got you into modeling Ashley?

It was David Austin who got me into modeling. He asked me to do a shoot with him. So I tried it out. Got good feed back off the pictures from that shoot. We worked together a couple more times, then other photographers wanted to work together! I am so thankful for him starting me off.

I was kind of nervous, But David was so nice and helpful. Made me feel super comfortable so nerves went away fast. Now I hardly ever get nervous.

How supportive have your fami-ly and friends been towards your modeling career?At the beginning of all this, I was kind of surprised who was supportive and who wasn’t. The people I thought would support me didn’t really and the people who I wouldn’t think would support me, they did. Other’s have warmed up to the whole thing. But it’s something I love to do. I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon.

Have you had any embarrassing wardrobe malfunctions during a shoot?I don’t think anything too bad. Probably some slips sometimes with certain outfits or items. But I am sure that happens with everyone!

Do you have any upcoming pro-jects you are excited about? Tell us about them.I went to Washington DC to have my very first workshop and my first trip for modeling. It was wonderful met so many awesome people, had an awesome experience. I plan to go down a couple more times this year for sure. Along with other traveling plans.

What would you say is your best physical feature?

I’ll be honest. My butt. I have worked super hard on it the past 9 months and I plan to continue working on it and keeping it the way it is!



What type of workout do you do to keep in such amazing shape?

I go to the gym often. I don’t do much cardio as I want to gain muscle and my body type cardio would burn it. I do it sometimes though. I mostly do normal leg day, back & shoulder day and arm days. I do Abs before and after workout. I just want to keep my body toned.

What TV show would you be most likely to do a Netflix mara-thon too?Sons of Anarchy. I love that show so much! Super sad it ended!

What is the number one trait you look for in a man?

I look for someone who is going to be the same amount of effort into the relationship as I will. You shouldn’t stop trying to make the person you’re with happy after you already have them. You should always put effort in ! It’s very hard to find.

What is the most trouble you and your girlfriends have gotten into on a night out on the town?

Well my best friend Jessica and I, used to call our selves trouble together. Every time we went out we would have fun and “get in trouble”. We of course drank, got free drinks and we went on crazy adventures! We usually ended up on the same couch sleeping.. Good thing we are both tiny.

I love doing all sorts of modeling. Anything from clothing lines, cosplay, boudoir, im-plied, and artistic. Every shoot I love con-necting with the photographer and produc-ing these amazing images. Queen of Diamonds clothing was created in 2013 by designer Rachel Nicole with hopes of designing outfits for models, burlesque dancers and every lady looking to add a little spice to her wardrobe. If you could give one piece of advice to a model going on her first photo shoot what would it be?Know that you will be nervous! Use that nervousness to be super in tune with yourself, it should help you be aware of your posing and facial expressions. Bring a friend with you to every shoot unless you personally have met and

know the photographer. NEVER go alone to a photo shoot. Also know that you’re not going to be perfect your first shoot but go into it and have fun. Get a feel for photo shoots and what they are all about. Know this one is a learning experience.

But don’t let that stop you from trying your hardest to make it the best shoot you possibly can.


For me it is so important. I’m not skilled at doing my own MUAH & it really does help my confidence at a shoot when I’m professionally made up. I’m not saying a shoot will be bad without pro hair and makeup but Confidence is key and anything to keep the model confident makes the picture better. I have one photographer I shoot with who doesn’t like pro MUAH & his images just never are as good as the rest. There’s nothing like looking at a model who is professionally done up.

Well that took me some of trial and error lol. What I do is look at ALL of social media sites/websites to check out all of their work. If 85% of it is truly talented then I will work with them. If most of their work needs work then I decline. I’m not afraid to work with new photographers but I have to see potential in them. It’s all about quality. You can’t just look at a few pics and decide to work with someone. People tend to put their best work in the top of their portfolios. You can miss a lot of bad work by not investigating.

HOW IMPORTANT IS THE PRESENCE OF A HAIR AND MAKEUP ARTIST ON THE SHOOT?

WHAT IS THE FUNNIEST THING THAT’S HAPPENED TO YOU ON A SHOOT?

Clean up from my paint shoots was probably the funniest thing to happen because of the way clean up happened each time. There was no where to wash off like a shower so I cleaned up at the photographers studio in a kiddy pool. Let me tell you it was cold and hilarious. And blue water was everywhere! The other shoot was at a different studio and I washed off in a metal wash tub like the ones you see in pinup photo shoots hahaha. That was crazy there was no running water in that studio so we had someone running back and forth getting me clean water every 5 minutes. By the time I gave up I looked like a smurf and went home needing a shower hahaha.

I enjoy doing fashion, bikini, fit-ness, glamour, and boudoir mod-eling. I love modeling because it’s empowering. I also love that I’ve inspired other to follow their dreams. It means a lot to me to have a positive outlook and to make a positive impact on others.
