MODERN MAYFAIR COLLECTION



Inspired by one of London’s most prestigious districts, the Modern Mayfair

Collection is an eclectic urban gathering of transitional furnishings that fit as

comfortably in modern high-rises as they do in traditional homes. Modern

design and traditional craftsmanship collide in this functional gathering of

small-scale modular furnishings-- the perfect complement to unique foot-

prints and smaller quarters.

Using sleek architectural lines, exquisite ash wood veneers in two rich finishes,

and custom metal hardware; Modern Mayfair provides a fashionable twist

to the existing historic architecture of the area. Exclusive performance finishes

and fabric options protect furniture for years of enjoyment.

The Modern Mayfair Story

The creation of the Modern Mayfair collection is unique to the industry --

a complete collaboration between the State Department and Heritage Home.

The London Embassy had a need for furniture that could fit into the homes

and apartments of London -- similar in size to many urban environments. Lon-

don had frequently struggled with oversized furniture in small rooms and the

logistics to navigate elevators and stairs. It was clear that no existing furniture

groups would fulfill their need, so Heritage Home worked directly with the

GSO staff in London to design the ideal blend of style and proportion.

Involved in every step of design and development, the GSO staff worked close-

ly with Heritage Home’s product development and manufacturing team. Re-

quirements included smaller scale, multipurpose pieces, with the flexibility and

contemporary styling that could blend into the traditional neighborhoods of

London. After a year-long effort, London now has Modern Mayfair -- a group

named for the district where the London Embassy is currently located.

Finishing a fine piece of wood furniture is an art involving many hand operations. While we are very careful to formulate each finish and apply it to exacting standards, variations in color will occur. Woods vary in their acceptance

of finishing materials; hands vary in their touch. The finishes shown here are as close to the actual finishes as the most sophisticated photographic reproduction methods can produce.
