OFFICE OF" THE PRESIDENT

May 19, 1972

Graduating Class 1972:

I wish on behalf of the Institute to express my congratulations to you on having successfully completed Rose-Hulman's difficult and demanding program. It is unfortunate that the 1972 Class is graduating at a time when the job market is difficult not only for engineers and scientists but for almost all other professional fields. I am confident, however, that the program here has been broad enough to prepare you for a wide variety of opportunities and that engineers and scientists are particularly well prepared to meet the problems and opportunities which the future will present.

There is going to be an increasing emphasis on social awareness and the need for an analytical approach to social and political problems. I hope you will not overlook your responsibilities to these fields as you move ahead to take your place in society.

As members of the Rose family we are concerned about you and your future; I hope that you will keep us informed as to your whereabouts and I want to assure you that you can always rely on anyone in the administration, faculty or the staff to assist you in any way possible.

Again, congratulations and best personal regards, I am

Sincerely,

John A. Logan President
