BACKGROUND INFORMATION

The adopted district goals speak to the need to provide students with innovative and effective instructional opportunities as well as a wide array of quality extra-curricular activities and programs To that end there has been a concerted effort by clubs and advisors to plan and organize trips that will provide students true immersion opportunities that correlate and are consistent with learning standards and curriculum content

ANALYSISEVALUATION

The high school principal is requesting Board of Education approval for the High School Select Choir to participate in a field trip to New York City on Saturday June 20 2015 Students will depart from the high school at 630AM and return at approximately 830PM Approximately 40 select choir members 10 parent chaperones and 2 teachers will be participating in this trip Students will participate in a 90-minute theater workshop at a studio in the city During this private session they will work as a group to recreate a songdance number from the Broadway show Wicked which they will be attending The workshop session will be run by professional performers from the show Following the workshop students will break into chaperoned groups and enjoy lunch at Ellens Stardust Diner After lunch students will watch the matinee performance of the revival of Wicked Transportation is through Yankee Trails Cost per student will be $160 which includes the workshop transportation show ticket and lunch

RECOMMENDATION

That the Board of Education approve the request for the High School Select Choir to participate in a field trip to New York City on Saturday June 20 2015

The middle school principal is requesting Board approval for an 8th grade field trip to New York City proposed for Wednesday June 10 2015 The trip includes a tour of the Statue of Liberty Ellis Island and the World Financial Center After lunch they plan to take in the South Street Seaport The cost of the trip is estimated to be $35 per student Buses would leave Draper Middle School at approximately 645AM and return at approximately 700PM Approximately 195 students and 25 adult chaperones will accompany the students on this trip Transportation will be through Yankee Trails As usual only students who are fully caught up on all of their schoolwork will be able to participate

EVALUATION ANALYSIS

Oak Hill School will provide educational services to one district resident student for the period of January 1 2015 through June 30 2015 Tuition is $281140 per month for each of the six months January through June of the school year This contract now needs to be approved by the Board of Education

RECOMMENDATION

That the Board of Education approve a contract with Oak Hill School for the period of January 1 2015 through June 30 2015 at a rate of$281140 per month

EVALUATION ANALYSIS

A review of district records indicates 18 students residing in the Mohonasen Central School District are receiving health and welfare services from the Scotia-Glenville Central School District The cost of these services is $87226 per student for the 2014shy15 school year at a total of $1570068 The district should now enter into a contract with the Scotia-Glenville Central School District in the total amount of $1570068

RECOMMENDATION

That the Board of Education approve a health and welfare contract with the ScotiashyGlenville Central School District in the total amount of $1570068 for the 2014-15 school year

The adopted district goals speak to the need to provide students with innovative and effective instructional opportunities as well as a wide array of quality extra-curricular activities and programs To that end there has been a concerted effort by clubs and advisors to plan and organize trips that will provide students true immersion opportunities that correlate and are consistent with learning standards and curriculum content

ANALYSISEVALUATION

The high school principal is requesting Board of Education approval for the High School Select Choir to participate in a field trip to New York City on Saturday June 20 2015 Students will depart from the high school at 630AM and return at approximately 830PM Approximately 40 select choir members 10 parent chaperones and 2 teachers will be participating in this trip Students will participate in a 90-minute theater workshop at a studio in the city During this private session they will work as a group to recreate a songdance number from the Broadway show Wicked which they will be attending The workshop session will be run by professional performers from the show Following the workshop students will break into chaperoned groups and enjoy lunch at Ellens Stardust Diner After lunch students will watch the matinee performance of the revival of Wicked Transportation is through Yankee Trails Cost per student will be $160 which includes the workshop transportation show ticket and lunch

The middle school principal is requesting Board approval for an 8th grade field trip to New York City proposed for Wednesday June 10 2015 The trip includes a tour of the Statue of Liberty Ellis Island and the World Financial Center After lunch they plan to take in the South Street Seaport The cost of the trip is estimated to be $35 per student Buses would leave Draper Middle School at approximately 645AM and return at approximately 700PM Approximately 195 students and 25 adult chaperones will accompany the students on this trip Transportation will be through Yankee Trails As usual only students who are fully caught up on all of their schoolwork will be able to participate
