Beam Line MagnetsM.Ellis

Page 5: MOM report:

Beam Line Magnets

• Magnet power supplies locked off and correct procedures (Method Statement + Risk Assessment to get Authorisation To Work) need to be followed to work on or with the magnets

• Water supply has been reduced from 100 L/min to 60 L/min, magnets operated with an acceptable temperature rise.

Decay Solenoid• Achieved the major milestone of achieving liquid

Helium in the solenoid for the first time.• No major problems with the refrigeration plant or

the magnet.• LiHe filled to 5% of full

M.Ellis

Page 7: MOM report:

Detectors and DAQ

• CKOV in place.• TOF due in mid May (?)• Tracker due in mid June.• Online monitoring software is ready.• First version of G4MICE unpacking code for

the DATE format has been written.• First version of online database design has

been produced. Work continues.

Gate Valve

• Gate valve has been opened.

• Target operation authorised by ISIS, who release key to MICE for data taking.

• First step towards parasitic operation...

Miscellaneous• First web-cam installed.• Three more planned to be installed, hopefully

by CM21.• Shielding wall construction has begun.
