Each ADC can scan through three independent input channels for a total of 12 input channels. You can configure each channel to AC or DC coupling. The AC coupling cutoff frequency isconfigurable to 10 Hz or 2.0 Hz. You can turn the IEPE excitation on or off for each channel. The IEPE excitation circuitry includes open and short circuit detection.

mechanical performance, ferrules with a plastic collar over fine-stranded 0.25 mm2 to1 mm2 (24 AWG to 18 AWG) wire

• M16 glands (supplied by NI)• Plugs rated for Type 3 or greater ingress protection for unused ports

Tools needed:• 2.5 mm flat-blade screwdriver (your own or NI part number 786911-01)• 19 mm deep socket or wrench• 22 mm socket or wrench• (Optional) multi-prong actuation tool (WAGO part number 279-433)• (Optional) 19 mm gland dome nut tightening tool (SEALCON part number S-1900-WR)

Complete the following steps connect signals to the MON-10467.1. Thread the M16 glands into the device enclosure.2. Tighten the gland bodies to a torque of 3.16 N · m (28 lb · in.).3. Install backing nuts onto the M16 glands and tighten to a torque of 2.5 N · m

(22.1 lb · in.).4. If you are using a cable that has external metal armor or braid, terminate the external

armor or braid so that it does not pass through the gland grommet to ensure that the glandcan seal properly around the smooth, round inner cable jacket.

5. Insert the signal cables through the glands using the appropriately sized grommets foryour cables.

Each M16 gland comes with a pre-installed gray 2 mm to 6 mm grommet and anadditional black 4 mm to 8 mm grommet. For optimum sealing and strain relief, only usewiring with a round, circular, and smooth exterior cable jacket.

6. Open the spring terminal by inserting a 2.5 mm flat-blade screwdriver and pressing thelever.

Tip Try using a prying motion to move the lever as shown below if you arehaving difficulty. You can also activate multiple terminals simultaneously byusing multiple screwdrivers or a multi-prong actuation tool.

Figure 9. Opening Analog Input Spring Terminal

7. Insert the wires into the spring terminal.

Notice NI recommends using ferrules with a barrel length of 6 mm to helpwith inspecting proper insertion and to prevent stray strands from contactingadjacent connections. NI also recommends actuating multiple terminal springssimultaneously if you are using stiff wires.

8. Fill any unused gland openings with plugs rated for Type 3 or greater ingress protection.9. Tighten the M16 dome nuts to a torque of 2.5 N · m (22.1 lb · in.) to provide strain relief

and weather resistance for the cables.

Integrated Electronic Piezoelectric (IEPE) SensorsThe MON-10467 can provide an IEPE excitation current for each channel to measure IEPEsensors. You can configure IEPE excitation current per channel.

Typical IEPE sensors have a case that is electrically isolated from the IEPE electronics. Therefore, connecting this type of sensor to the MON-10467 results in a floating connection.Typical IEPE sensors used in industrial machine condition monitoring applications may alsobe supplied with a cable shield drain wire that is floating at the sensor end. In this case, thedrain wire should be connected to the channel chassis ground terminal of the MON-10467.

IEPE Fault ConditionsWhen IEPE is enabled, the MON-10467 monitors the input voltage to determine if there is aconnection issue with the attached signal source. Common connection issues that can occurinclude open and short circuits. An open circuit occurs if there is a disconnect between thesignal source and the MON-10467, resulting in the input voltage rising too high. A shortcircuit occurs if the MON-10467 AI+ to AI- terminals have been shorted. For example, asensor fault could cause a short circuit. If an open or short event occurs, the hardware willcontinue to perform the configured acquisition and return the acquisition to InsightCM, butwill set a fault indicator flag advising the user that the returned data is invalid.
