Blazing Trails – Raccoon/Badger Enrichment Class Details for Summer 2020
WEEK 1 FRIENDSHIP GIFTS- In this enrichment we will spend time making gifts for each other! Participants will make gifts for their “friendship person” and spend time getting to know them. Activities may include friendships bracelets, drawing, clay, etc. FOOTBALL- Build your skills by running drills and learning the fundamentals. Then we’ll put those skills to use in a game! PATHFINDER RPG- Join us in a high fantasy, tabletop RPG (Role Playing Game) with a coincidental name! In this game, we will use our imaginations to tell stories where WE control the heroes. No Pathfinder/D & D experience required. Basic reading skills are necessary. VISUAL ARTS- Channel your inner artist! This week we will be creating works of art using various 2D mediums while drawing inspiration from our own expressions. DODGEBALL- Build your skills! See Blackie’s Games schedule for details!
WEEK 2 VISUAL ARTS- Channel your inner artist! This week we will be creating works of art using various 2D mediums while drawing inspiration from our own expressions. SOCCER- Come learn the fundamentals of soccer and improve your skills and abilities. We’ll practice the fundamentals of passing, dribbling and shooting through a series of drills and games. MONOPOLY- When was the last time you got to complete a game of Monopoly? This week we will be playing different types of Monopoly games, start to finish. We may even be able to make our own versions! BOB ROSS- Have you ever wanted to paint like Bob Ross? Here’s your chance! Following Ross’ techniques, we will channel our inner artists to create works of art. BASKETBALL- Build your skills! WEEK 3 A CAPPELLA- Come learn how to make music without instruments. Our group will be learning “I Lived” by OneRepublic, an inspirational song about facing your fears and making your dreams happen. We will end the week by performing for our BT friends. FIBER ARTS- Come experience the world of fiber arts! During this week, we will learn about weaving, embroidery and cross stitch, just to name a few. ULTIMATE FRISBEE- Throughout the week, kids will have the opportunity to learn the basics of ultimate Frisbee and focus on solidifying our skills. Through a variety of games and activities, we’ll learn different throwing and catching techniques while also working on different in game strategies. TRANSPORTATION- Come explore the differences and similarities between different modes of transportation. We will also be working as a group to build models. KICKBALL- Build your skills! We will explore the cultural, linguistic and scientific origins of the game as well as designing our own Pokémon! We WILL NOT be playing the card game. PHOTOGRAPHY- This week, we will learn 3 basic types of photography. Each child will also get the opportunity to use a highly technical digital camera. WEEK 6 BEADING- Using different sizes and styles of beads, we will create various beaded projects to wear and display. MYTHOLOGY- From hit movies to the days of the week, myths and pantheons have influenced our lives in all sorts of areas. This week, we will focus on Greco-Roman and Egyptian cultures. BOCCE BALL/KLOOTCHIETEN- Similar to bowling, these games will test your hand-eye coordination and strategic thinking, all while having loads of fun! BUGS/INSECTS- Come learn all about butterflies! During this week, we will be learning about all the different types of butterfly species and even get to raise our own. CRAB SOCCER/FOOT GOLF- Practice some new foot skills while playing these games. Both games will provide a fun and new challenge for everyone! This enrichment consists of 3 different and very entertaining games all involving a net. FOOTBALL- Build your skills by running drills and learning the fundamentals.
