Racine opened the first Monday of every month to provide beauty and wellness services (from head shaving and wig styling to yoga and meditation) to those undergoing treatment for cancer, all at no cost to the client.

Looking good does make you feel better.

Self confidence soars and many clients report being empowered to return to normal activities much sooner than without our services.

“I really look great. Afterwards I put the wig on, I felt like a whole person. Once I

was done-up, I felt alive again.” –Linda Hart

By attending to the whole person and not just the disease, Mondays at Racine offers people undergoing cancer treatment the opportunity to face the challenge of healing... beautifully.

The salon was the subject of the 2013 HBO documentary, Mondays at Racine, which addressed the topic of chemotherapy related hair loss and the emotions associated with it.

In 2014 the sisters established a formal 501c3 nonprofit foundation with a mission to reduce the physical, emotional and cosmetic side effects of anyone undergoing chemotherapy or radiation by providing free in-salon beauty and wellness services.
