improved sanitation facilities,

Health impact• in 2007, 

 –  infectious diarrhea, dysentery, typhoid and viral Hepatitis‐A 

constitutes 21% of  all the reported communicable diseases. 

 –  Hepatitis‐A and dysentery accounts for 71.6% and 24% of  all water borne intestinal infections respectively. 

 –  Children between 5‐9 years are most at risk of  Hepatitis‐A . 

• Poor practice level amongst most respondents in regards to 

washing their water tank 1‐2 times per week. 

• The highest rate of  washing was found amongst people 

who lived in soum centers (15.7%), while the lowest level 

was amongst people living in ‘ger’ districts around UB 

(8.4%).

3. Next Steps

• Organize in country dialogue

• Update current legal framework

• Enhance 

implementation 

and 

regulations 

• Get technical and financial support from International agencies, ADB, WB, UNDP, WHO and other countries

• About 1 billion USD 2009‐2025 to raise by government 

to reach MDG target• Government intents to impose to charge tariff  on waste 

water treatment 

• Raise population awareness towards to the sanitation 

and hygiene 

• To liberalize  the price to attract private sector and 

enhance PPP

• Enhance coordinating mechanism and integrated

• Strengthen implementation of  strategic action plan

connecting housing and ger areas to water supply and 

sewerage systems,
