What is an ‘IDA’ Antenna?
Information Dense Antenna (IDA): Self-aware antenna which
senses the passage of an arriving RF wave front through itssenses the passage of an arriving RF wave front through its
own Electromagnetic field using a Cartesian base
Three unique capabilities:
1 - Exploitation of Polarization – 3-pole antennas
2 - Characterize Radio waves as a 3-D vector
3 - Exploit Vector Characteristics – not only intensity

3-D/IDA – How does it work?
During one wave period, the locus of the electric field vector E(t) sweeps out an ellipse, the polarization ellipse. E(t), and hence the plane of the ppolarization ellipse, is alwaysperpendicular to the DOA, which is parallel to the wave vector, k.is parallel to the wave vector, k. IDA utilizes this physical fact, measuring the full three-dimensional field using threedimensional field using three antennas.

IDA 3-D System Advantagesmonteria
Small Form Factor: mobile, portable or blwearable
Only 2 of 3 components needed for azimuth determination
M d fl ti / lti th bManaged reflections/multi-path – can be suppressed
Excellent against circularly-polarized RF like NVIS, airborne or space-based targets, p g
Noise less than 1-bit – critical against LPI signals
Free Space/Infinite Plane accuracy +/- 1 p f ydegree in bearing AND elevation
