Lessons Learned & Tips FAC for any kind of community impact disaster • Mass Destruction • Mass Casualty • Mass Fatality USE LOGISTICS SECTION • Single point of contact • Daily supplies check
TORNADO RESPONSE

EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS
Lessons Learned & Tips • OH Crisis Response Team
responders/companions are the lifeblood of the FAC
• Need more locally NOVA trained OCRT companions
• Recommend 4-5 OCRT companions per shift to run optimally
• OCRT handled their own schedule; efficiencies could be gained by having them coordinated with other volunteer scheduling

EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS
• FAC plans should be regional • Unaffected counties are a huge asset • Public Health and ADAMHS set up and staffed this FAC, with help from Clark Co EMA • Plans need to have triggers for set
up and staffing of FACs • Plan for onsite security
