Notice to All Residents

Due to increasing costs and repeated

mis-use of garbage disposals, if your

garbage disposal becomes inoperable, it will

no longer be replaced. The disposal and cor-

responding switch will be removed.

You may still report a garbage disposal that is not

working, and a maintenance team member will deter-

mine if it can be repaired. We will repair garbage dis-

posals if possible, but will no longer be installing new

units.

OTHER HAPPENINGS AROUND THE TOWERS

ALONE . . . TOGETHER

Date and TIME to be Announced

You are not alone!!! Please plan to join this supportive dis-

cussion group facilitated by Sheila Harper, a counselor with

Vitas Healthcare. Sheila will be sharing some helpful coping

skills so that you learn how to address negative feelings and

emotions. You will benefit from attending this group! This

is a support group, and anything that is discussed will be kept

confidential. Snacks and drinks will be served.

SENIORS WITH A MISSION

Wednesday, April 4, 9:30 AM

The March trip was a great success! Only two of the

Pablo Towers residents were able to go on this first trip,

but they are eager to go again. We encourage you to join

this group of active seniors who enjoy going out into the

community to help others. The bus will pick up our Pablo

Towers group at 9:30 AM and lunch will be provided.

This is a great opportunity to serve others!!! If you are

interested in going and need additional information, please

call the Seniors with a Mission phone number at

904-551-4373.

FALLING—How to Live Safely in Your

Home

Thursday, April 19, 2:30 PM

What causes us to fall more as we age? What

can we do to cut down on our fall risks? How can we

make our homes safer in case we fall? Please plan to join

Johanna Smithers with Silver Rehab and APEX Home

Healthcare Services as she advises us on what to do to

live safely. We are so fortunate to have therapy services

available in Pablo Towers, and Johanna is one of the

occupational therapists that comes to our facility.

Courtney Ainsworth, a representative with

APEX, will explain how home healthcare services can

assist you with living more safely.

Delicious refreshments will be served at the

presentation.

THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS VETERANS’

HISTORY PROJECT

Monday, April 9, 2:30 PM

We are thrilled to welcome Jenn McMillan who is a member of

the DAR (Daughters of the Republic.) Jenn will explain the

project she is bringing to Pablo Towers. The intent of the

Library of Congress Veterans’ History Project is to document

(collect, preserve, and make accessible) the personal accounts of

those who were in the armed forces. It is important to our

grandchildren and those who follow that there be a record of the

real-world experiences of those who preserved our freedoms.

Veterans are an endangered species. Their legacy must be pre-

served. Veterans who served in the United States military from

World War I through the present are eligible to participate. We

encourage all veterans to attend this program, but all residents

are welcome to attend the program.

Refreshments will be served.

THIRD ANNUAL SENIOR PROM

Saturday, April 21, 6:00 PM

The Interact Club students from Fletcher High

School invite you to this year’s Senior Prom. The

theme this year is “A Country Western Evening.” Mark

your calendars now for a wonderful night of dinner, live

music, and dancing. The Blue

Moon Ramblers will be providing

the musical entertainment

sponsored by St. Paul’s by-the-

Sea Episcopal Church.

There is no dress code,

but if you want to dress for the

theme, start putting together your

Country Western attire. The

students want to enjoy an evening of intergenerational

interaction with YOU!!! One thing for sure . . . the

evening will be AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!

MUSIC AND FELLOWSHIP:

An Evening of Music and

Dessert with the Families of

the Beaches Vineyard Church

Monday, April 30, 6:30 PM

Do you love music? Do you love to sing or hear others

sing? Some residents have stated they would love to

have a night to sing hymns, worship choruses, and other

songs. The Vineyard worship team has answered your

request and is excited to provide this opportunity.

They will bring desserts for you to enjoy.
