BACKGROUNDFor decades Moody yachts have remained a preferred choice for liveaboards, weekend sailors as well as ocean cruisers. Withbeatifully finished interiors offering luxury and space, the centre cockpit model has remained a favourite for many cruisingfamilies and couples. Moody have forged a strong reputation for producing luxury family cruising yachts with spaciousaccommodation.

Bluey's spent most of her life as a family cruising yacht in theMediterranean summers and wintered in dry dock and is invery good condition below. In 2017 she underwent an extensive re-fit before beingshipped to Australia. New equipment includes  a 35hp Betaengine, shaft and prop, standing and running rigging and fullsuite of Raymarine electronics and autopilot. Her safety equipment has recently been upgraded  and belowdecks she is fitted with electric and auxillary bilge pumps,Co2 and Gas Alarms and all new Tru-design skin fittings.

Some more recent additions include new batteries, newwind, speed and depth instruments, new autopilot, cockpitcushions and an upgraded sound installation and fuel tank. The pilot berth aft of the chart table has been converted intoa ‘garage’ which is packed with tools, a first aid kit and lots ofengine spares for the long range cruiser. She is listed on the Australian Ships Register and has beenanti-fouled with long lasting Coppercoat.

InteriorMoody’s classic teak interior offers an abundance of spaceand comfort with a large master cabin aft with a double bedoffset to port with couch settee and ensuite head. Thespacious saloon has a table large enough to seat all thecrew in comfort, while also providing two good sea berths.Blueys sleeps up to 6 crew and each cabin is equipped withhanging lockers and the saloon has excellent storage forbooks, games and extras.

ACCOMMODATION

Blueys has a two-cabin, two head layout with two singlesettee berths in the main saloon. There’s a double cabinforward with adjacent (ensuite) head and shower whichcan be accessed from either forward cabin or saloon. Allberths have reading lights. Both heads have newlyreplaced pumps and hoses and the forward cabin has a50ltr holding tank. Hot water showers are available ondeck and in the forward cabin.

THE GALLEY

The well equipped galley lies to port and is extremely wellenclosed which has huge advantages when preparingmeals while at sea. A very deep 12v chest fridge and anew 2-burner stove has just been fitted. There are twin s/ssink deep sinks with additional draining compartment andample cabinet space and drawers complete with crockery.

NAVIGATION

Blueys has recently been fitted with all new Raymarinewind, speed and depth instruments with cockpit and navstation displays. She is also fitted with Foruno Radar, newRaymarine VHF, chart plotter and autopilot. All deck andnavigation lights are LED.

On DeckThe Moody 376 and its centre cockpit counterparts havealways been associated with comfortable and easy cruisingyachts with plenty of performance. Sloop rigged withadditional options for symmetric or assymetric spinnaker,the main and furling headsail are controlled from thecockpit. Blueys has additional anchoring tackle and anelectric Lofrans windless. The mainsail halyard iscontrolled from the cockpit and lowers into a boombag withlazy jacks. Her scooped stern allows for easy access from atransom ladder in and out of the water or dinghy. 

COCKPIT LAYOUT

Of huge appeal is the centre cockpit layout allowing crewto remain enclosed when underway. Her cockpit is roomyenough to rest lying down with a book or to accommodatea party of 6 during mealtimes. The main halyard andheadsail furling lines are run through Spinlock jammers toLewmar winches on the coachhouse roof. The main sheetsits on a traveller at arms reach aft of the helm.
