The Moon is the celestial Mother I am daughter of the Moon

Devoted to Artemis. My blood is Amazon My life is Amazon.

Servant to my Nation and to my Sisters.

I am daughter of the Moon.

. Artemis was worshiped in most Greek cities but only as a secondary deity.

However, to the Greeks in Asia Minor (modern day Turkey) she was a prominent deity.

In Ephesus, a principal city of Asia Minor, a great temple was built in her honour, which became one of the "Seven Wonders of the Ancient World".

But at Ephesus she was worshiped mainly as a fertility goddess, and was identified with Cybele the mother goddess of eastern lands.

The cult statues of the Ephesian Artemis differ greatly from those of mainland Greece, whereas she is depicted as a huntress with her bow and arrows.

Those found at Ephesus show her in the eastern style, standing erect with numerous nodes on her chest.

There have been many theories as to what they represent. Some say they are breasts, others that they are bulls testes which were sacrificed to her.

Which is the true interpretation remains uncertain, but each represent fertility.

Artemis-Moon Goddess Artemis: is the Greek goddess of the moon and the hunt. She is also one of the virgin goddesses, and She protects women in labour, small children and wild animals.

As a virgin goddess, She, Hestia, and Athena are not affected by Aphrodites (Greek goddess of love) manipulations.

Artemis is the daughter of Zeus and Leto (sometimes called Letona) as well as the twin sister of Apollo.

Artemis is one of the principle Goddesses of Greek mythology.

She was chief hunter to the Gods and Goddesses.

Goddess of hunting and wild animals especially bears. Artemis was also the Goddess of childbirth, of nature, and of

    the harvest.

As the Moon Goddess, she was sometimes identified with the Goddess Selene and Hectate.

The Amazonian Moon Goddess, she was worshiped at Ephesus, her entire torso covered with nurturing breasts.

Artemis' bow is symbolic of both the crescent Moon as well as of inner self-esteem, of an exquisitely tuned inner

    tension.

The Amazons(Moon-women), who were loyal to Her, worshipped one aspect of Artemis(the New Moon phase).

. The sixth day of the New Moon was hers.

Acorns and wormwood were sacred to Her.

She rides her chariot across the sky and shoots her arrows of silver Moonlight to the earth below.

    Artemis myths

Actaeon: A legendary Greek hunter, son of Aristaeus and Autono (who was the daughter of Cadmus).

Artemis turned Actaeon into a stag and he was chased down, torn to pieces, and killed by his own hunting dogs.

According to one myth, She did this because Actaeon saw Her naked while she was bathing in a stream near Orchomenus.

Artemis, as a virgin goddess, was so pure that She allowed no man to see her

In another myth, She did this because Actaeon boasted he was a better hunter than even Artemis Herself.

Callisto: The daughter of Lycaon, was a follower of Artemis.

One day, however, Zeus seduced Callisto, and Callisto became pregnant with His child.

As Artemis requires the same chastity of Her followers that she maintains herself, she punished Callisto by changing her into a bear.

Zeus then prevented Callisto from being hunted to death by setting her image in the stars.

    Callistos child, Arcus, was saved.

The Greeks believed that Bast and Artemis were the same Goddess.
