As its first public initiative, in April 2007 Moradavaga launched an OPEN CALL for ideas to temporarily re-use abandoned buildings, empty lots and neglected public spaces in the city of Porto, in the north of Portugal. Rather than finding solutions to solve the problems of the decaying historic centre, the general degradation of buildings or the uselessness of some public spaces "once and for all", we asked participants to present proposals for the temporary “activation” of an area of their choice, located within the boundaries of the city, with the backdrop of an ephemeral event like an urban festival.
